Yes, George Lewis. He was the bandleader on two of my all time favorites (Shadowgraph and Chicago Slow Dance). And coincidentally, I'm downloading one of his albums I haven't listened to before right now.
He has also a Solo Trombone Record, which isn't really solo trombone but features only trombones, it has some funny songs and surprisingly catchy songs for free jazz, too.
Started to listen to my national music, definitely worth it.
