Having an impacted wax clump inside the canal is completely different. I got them out of both ears and everything sounded much better.

That just softens the wax. After using the peroxide, use one of those rubber bulb things to blast water in your ears until clumps of wax fall out. Bonus points if water is shot down the side of the ear, it dislocates one side of the wax to get more of it out.
I scrape wax out of my ear with a toothpick...

There exists a surgery for things like this, but it's considered cosmetic, so no insurance will cover the cost. And the cost is outrageous.
Hearing aid acustician here. I look into about 50 ears a day and have much to do with the corresponding doctors for this topic. The only thing you should consider is going to your doctor. There is no way to get deep in canal cerumen out, especially when it's moist.
