Their early work was a little too jazz fusion for my tastes, but when Romantic Warrior came out in '76, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.
They're still good without Peter Gabriel. Looks like this band will never release a bad album!

The Sweet just put out a new album called "Give Us a Wink". I've been a fan of theirs since 1973 when "Little Willy" was released. Last year's album, "Desolation BLVD." was great with TWO great rock and roll classics, "Ballroom Blitz" and "Fox on The Run". This new song, "Piece of The Action" is going to be THE top hit o the summer! You just mark my words. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is going to knock this baby out of the charts! People will remember this song and will be talking about it 39 years later. Just wait and see!

What's wrong with this world? I just came back from England and saw this great band called The Ramones! This is what rock and roll is supposed to be! They look like a bunch of juvenile delinquents who'd jump you in the hall way for your lunch money, but man, could the play! All their songs are real short, like under three minutes! No pretension. No stupid flashy lead guitar solos! Just straight ahead rock and roll, the way it's supposed to be! I got back stage to meet them, and realized they're from New York City! How come I had to come all the way to London to discover them? Why is American radio being clogged up with shit like James Taylor, and The Captain and Tennile? I'm gonna buy their album when it comes out, and have them autograph it next time I'm in New York. America better wake up and start getting into real rock and roll again, real soon!
Jeff Beck has been making some groovy music lately. I hope he keeps doing what he has been doing and doesn't start making instrumental rock.

one of the best Bee Gees songs. Also one of the best songs that showcases their vocal harmonies. You have Barry Gibb singing the intro before the three brothers sing in unison "Fanny be tender with my love...". What is cool is that each brother has a distinct voice individually but due to them being brothers, their voices have some similarities as heard.
Then you return to Barry singing the melodies when the brothers once again sing the chorus in three part harmony. Seriously, very underrated by many, I think they are better than the Beach Boys and Simon & Garfunkel when it comes to vocal groups.

I sure he'll make up for it in spades next year, though. In fact I hear he's planning on releasing this crazy four LP set with a title that has to do with S&M, or something. I hope this doesn't fall through like that movie he tried filming at the Roxy a few years ago.

Does anybody else think that Klaatu are really The Beatles reunited under a different name? I mean, those vocals and song writing arrangements sound like good old John, and Paul. And didn't Ringo put out an album with Gort on the front cover? And what about Paul putting out an album called Venus and Mars? And how about his ending his shows by telling people that they'll see us again when Venus and Mars align with each other? And doesn't anybody else find it strange that no musicians identify themselves on the album, and they prefer to let the music speak for itself?
