Would actually be perfect for this album and no doubt hipster faggots will go nuts over it.
>>61212771

>>61212691

>>61212105

>>61212853
Tarantino is shite though
>>61213113
why is that?
William Friedkin
>>61213377
Basically takes ideas from other, more innovative directors and bashes them into the frame of formulaic action films for edgy teens. His writing is also pretty shoddy and shallow. A bit like Radiohead, but worse.
>>61212826
Confirmed for not being white or not poor, and thus able to relate to Anderson films.
Also filtered.
>>61213496
director with wide reaching influences makes succesful exciting influential beloved films that act as a gateway to the director's influences
this is bad how?
>>61213544
I'm white and I grew up extremely poor, nigga my family didn't get internet till around 2009. I just find it funny when he does his quirky little close up face shots of two teens staring at each other saying nothing. He's a fucking hack and you're a faggot.
>>61213639
Don't *
Absolutely don't find it funny, unlike you fuckwits with terrible taste.
>>61211808
Ozu
>>61213568
Except in practice this isn't true. All it leads to is a bunch of teenagers hailing Tarantino as some kind of Directing God when he is in fact competent but unoriginal.
>>61213639
have you only seen moonrise kindom, tripo?

Just watched Solaris the other night, the second act was devastating.

Imagine a stop motion animated film ala Fantastic Mr. Fox where the main character is the potato woman on the cover though. Oh my god I want it
>>61213952
I've seen around 5 of his films because every time fuck wits like you claim they're good and there's something I'm not getting but every time, overrated pretentious hipster bait.
Let me hazard a guess and say you also enjoy St. Vincent.
>>61211808
Doesn't matter what my favorite album is, I want Kiarostami to direct it
But if we're getting caught up in semantics, pic related might be Godard
>>61213978
Absolutely incredible film. Have you seen The Mirror? That's probably my fave.
>>61214161

I haven't watched Stalker yet but heard it's great, even though it ended up killing them all
Lynch directing Soul Coughing's Ruby Vroom, or, as another anon mentioned, Spiderland would be amazing to see.

Lynch is more refined than Beefheart, it would need to be someone more directly sporadic and who's works' value is more directly on the surface.
>>61216267
Stuart Murdoch would be a better director :3
>>61216740
Waters is too good for TMR.
>>61216785
I'd like it better if it was done by David Croft.
>>61212254
I feel like TMV albums would make terrible movies
(goat band though)

Kurosawa

I dunno, if I wanted to get somebody to make a film primarily about eating shit I'd go to him
>>61212218
Nah, he's more of a dude who'd direct Soundtracks for the Blind
>>61212691
is this satire?
Wes Anderson or Spike Jonze I can't decide

Let's be honest, if Lynch is going to do a film based on an album, it'll be by Richard D James
Żuławski or Lopushansky.
Lynch is a meme.
Uwe Boll

Mikio Naruse
>>61223012

>>61226612
Holy fuck, I'm terrible at writing sentences.
>>61217151
without a doubt
David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick are the only two directors I know and their styles don't fit this, but I would have Hermann Hesse write a novel adaptation of this.
ITT: Lynch and Kubrick (hehe i don't know any other artsy fancy directors xD)
>>61222741
i chose Miyazaki because childhood
Lars von Trier and Gaspar Noe would fit well with heavy, depressing, weird and unsettling themes like in Deathconsciousness or Giles Corey.
Paul Thomas Anderson - Remain In Light.
Woody Allen + Richard Linklater - maybe something by Sufjan Stevens or Elliott Smith.
Terrence Malick - Agaetis Byrjun
I'd love to see Charlie Kaufman tackle this.
>>61227424
Yeah, I can see it. tMG in general too, and anything post All Hail West Texas, really. I think Wes Anderson would also work well because he's always dealt with close and personal themes in his films. Just as long as he doesn't go overboard on the quirkiness. Maybe something in the style of Rushmore or Life Aquatic. Also the Coen bros, since they did Inside Llewyn Davis and A Serious Man.
