Mastodon and Opeth, it's what got me into it. Don't listen to them anymore, but I think they are fairly entry-level, but still good.
Go with Leviathan, Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye for Mastodon, and Still Life and Blackwater Park for Opeth.
Anything from Death's discography. You can't go wrong with any of their albums.
