Even if you don't care for Star Wars, or think John Williams is a hack, you can't deny this theme is absolutely gorgeous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqOBU34aVrc
Only matched to me by the final duel or Vader's unmasking in ROTJ.

2001 is an exercise in pure ambiance. There's so little actual dialog that the music and visuals drive it almost entirely by themselves.
Denis Lavant has the two best pop driven scenes
Spoilers for the first

>There's so little actual dialog
Except for the 40 minute stretch between the Dawn of Man and HAL that everyone likes to forget
>>61193520
The dialog isn't exactly dense in that portion of the movie either, and it constitutes only 1/4 of the total run time.

Suspiria's soundtrack, especially the opening theme, it adds so much to the already surreal and eerie atmosphere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkZ2rdbDHM4
And Beyond The Black Rainbow, specifically this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SG8ffpDC7W8
The movie as a whole was way too slow for the plot, but I always thought of it as a really long music video which redeems it a bit.

You know you could just listen to Ligeti and listen to the requiem the way it was intended.
The Strauss piece in that film also has more than just the opening bars. "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" is the name of the piece.
