At best it will sound somewhere around "bad" but above "shit".

Yeah, dude...that looks like a sweet amp/good deal. Don't listen to guys that scoff at modeling. They usually really suck at playing.

dude i have no clue about this kind of thing, thats why im asking for advice. theres no need to be a dick about it.
Fender frontman 212 R, fender Mexican standard Stratocaster, Fender Strap, fender tuner, fender t shirt, fender hat, fender shoes, fender benders basically... buy a hat.

I have one and it is so unesecary. Too big, too loud. Sounds great though

If as you say you are getting it for Christmas, then yes. Things gifted you are usually worth the money.
Really though it boils down to weather you like the sound or not. It's your sound not mine.
personally I would say that even that is over kill for most applications I have a Mustang 1 for my apartment, it is really good for practicing in a small space without disturbing the neighbours.
My cabinet and box of peddles really haven been out of storage in almost a year now and I am thinking of selling them. Even for playing live, this little amp is fine once it's miked.

I can guarantee I am better at guitar than you

is it surprisingly good, yes
Is it as good, no
Is it 60lbs lighter, yes
when it comes to hauling shit around, up and down stairs and in crammed cars full of other people and gear. it is good enough.
