I see these almost as much as The Ebin
Don't get me wrong, I liked both, but there's so much more out there and I feel like it aint coincidence that you just so happened to love these two.

It's true, it's no coincidence, I found out about both of them here.
Why not contribute to this thread? (Not being sarcastic here, I'm being genuine.)

Thanks for sharing your stuff. Didn't know my man Mats Gustafsson put something out. I'm stoked to go through the list, as someone who's just starting to wade in the pool.
Curious as to how your rating system works though. Is there math involved?
>>61193476
ooh also, I'm curious to know what you consider 10s or near 10s, subjective or not
>>61193476
yo what are your favourite jazz fusion records
>>61193608
There's no real math involved other than some arbitrary estimation. I basically just sort of think about how far the album is from being perfect according to my standards. It's a pretty subjective process really.
>>61193664
I'm not sure about perfect tens but here are some albums I would rate very highly from the past 5 years or so.
Alex Sipiagin- Destinations Unknown
Steve Lehman- Mise en Abime
Yosvany Terry- New Throned King
David Virelles- Mboko
Conrad Herwig- A Voice Through the Door
>>61193750
Joe Henderson- Multiple
Herbie Hancock- Sextant
Return to Forever- Light as a Feather
Chris Potter- Follow the Red Line
Alex Sipiagin- Destinations Unknown
>>61193852
ah okay
cool to get more recs
Although, I guess I'm more curious about which albums from the jazz greats of yore are your favorites. I'm in love with Wayne Shorter right now. Also, ready your sharia stones as A Love Supreme is my favorite Coltrane album, and possibly my favorite jazz album (although I'm not sure which is my favorite).
Sucks that /mu/ hates on it, but I just got into jazz earlier this year. Although I did play sax for 8 years in school (rudimentary jazz for 6). Never learned how to follow chord changes or solo properly, though. Bandleader was an asshole to most of us and seemed to care more about his reputation by making us play charts for competitions rather than helping us enjoy jazz, but I severely digress.

Oh, well here are some of my favorite classics
Clifford Brown and Max Roach- Study in Brown
The Chico Hamilton Quintet featuring Eric Dolphy
Mingus Ah Um
Bill Evans Trio- Complete Village Vanguard Recordings
Herbie Hancock- Maiden Voyage
Miles Davis- Miles Smiles
Andrew Hill- Point of Departure
Woody Shaw- Cassandranite
Wayne Shorter- The Soothsayer
Dave Holland- Conference of the Birds
Pat Metheny- Bright Size Life
Plus many others I'm probably forgetting. Those are just some that occurred to me right now
Going to sound like a daft request, but is there any music like link related, I've never listened to Jazz but I stumbled upon this royalty free track and I've listened to it a dozen times now, I just think it's the definition of comfy.
Any albums/artists like it? Just gentle, smooth and easy listening?
