Not a profound statement, op. Everyone knows that
>>61178116
nobody mentioned electronic albums. you just came into the thread and got mad over a rockist bogeyman. do you have any idea how stupid you sound?

Autechre are pretty catchy, but the fact that a lot of their albums are just random parameters is sad.
I prefer BoC, at least they put more effort on the music.
ae is better than boc on overall quality (TH is mediocre and Campfire Headphase is awful), but the best of boc is better than the best of ae

It's not really all that random though, I mean they painstakingly narrow the parameters in their patches so they have a pretty good feel for what it will sound like. They're meticulously constructed, with Confield being the one that's the least so (that ones prob the most generative), but even then only a small percentage is left to chance. Also people don't seem to realize that only 4 of their 11 albums (+ EP7) were made using this method, yet it still seems defines their music process.
Anyway I don't even know why the two get compared so much - both very different.

lel i remember that one interview where he went on a giant rant about term 'random' or 'generative programming' or smth after the interviewer used it
