I've not listened to it but pretentious is a fine argument for disliking something, especially for a lyrically based genre.
i like it a lot, it's relatable and i like his un-pitch-shifted voice, very dark though. but also I wish he'd shamelessly release bangers because hooks like bitch i'm lugubrious get my dick hard
