Not Can thats for sure

If somebody really doesnt know anything about music but wants to appear as if they do they will claim that Can is one of their favorite bands

Can is just an entry level fuccboi tryhard band people pretend to like for internet style points

Are you new? Good album nonetheless.

Are you asking to be convinced otherwise?

Either Kletka Red album. Klezmer influenced post punk with Russian vocals.

To /mu/? No. I just never really cared for Ege Bamyasi or Tago Mago. Then I heard this and it blew my mind

You should listen to those.

Such a great record. A recent favorite for me as well
>>61174819
Happy/sad is really great as well. I haven't heard all that much from Tim Buckley, but Starsailor and HAppy/sad are both really good

I plan on listening to those tomorrow

I've been listening to Gigi D'Agostino a lot this week. His music makes me nostalgic and is actually pretty good.

This song especially:

Can isn't bad, just really overhyped by people who don't know shit about music

Faust is much better

Elitism is the only thing that makes this board separate from the rest of the shit on the internet

fuck off to r/music if you dont want people to disagree with you

People with shit taste need to stop ruining this board. We need more elitism
>>
>>61175043
it's too late to save /mu/

I couldnt really disagree with that but just tearing people down seems pointless.

>>61174937
it's okay that you dislike Can. It's okay, anon. It's okay. Don't worry about it. Don't sweat it. You don't need to say anything else. I get it. I understand. You are allowed to dislike it. I still think you are a cool guy, don't worry. No sweat :^)

its pretty damn good tobh
>>
>>61175064
elitism is good and we need more of it but because the old guard of /mu/ has fucked off long ago and replaced by hugbox faggots this shithole is too far gone and its much more fun to pointlessly rip people apart

>>61175081
can isnt bad its just the poster band for people with little knowledge of music that want to tryhard their taste
>>
>>61175115
well have fun I guess
>>
>>61175005

Can is good, easier to get into. Yes I agree that Faust is better and even Amon Duul II is better imo but it just feels like one would be trying too hard to say that Can did not have some pretty good albums.
>>
>>61175115
and do you realize how hard you're trying right now? really you're the only person looking like a pleb here.
>>
>>61175149

>Can isnt bad its just the poster band for people with little knowledge of music that want to tryhard their taste
This is not a useful insight (regardless of whether or not it is true) because it is impossible to apply to anyone with any certainty. Why even make this claim?

It's unfortunate that you're just shit posting, cause I honestly sympathize with your view a bit. I used to worry about people just pronouncing their love for something to promote a positive image about themselves. I used to worry that it would make "true fans" look bad. But I realized that there is no benefit in assuming this cynical outlook. By claiming an individual is a "poser" (not a true fan) or a pleb, I am only being detrimental to myself. I am actively drawing the discussion away from the music I enjoy, and instead sparking a discussion about music taste (which goes against my personal interest). It is much more beneficial to myself to respond to an anonymous pronouncement of affection for a record with empathy; the benefit of the doubt that they are telling the truth. By doing so, the discussion focuses on certain aspects of the record that arouse that affection, which is beneficial to my goal (furthering my understanding of music).
