Classical just fucking blows for digital music, which is unfortunate because it also benefits the most from better quality.
>shitty album art
>artist is always the Orchestra as if that's a useful way to organize music
>symphonies are irregular lengths, so records will often stick a few pieces from a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COMPOSER on at the end to pad the length
>a lot of times the only way to get a composer's full oeuvre is to download sloppy anthologies with different orchestras and conductors
>last.fm sometimes scrobbles the orchestra and sometimes scrobbles the composer
>whole thing is just a messy ugly clusterfuck
>being a filthy pirate
>expecting quality stolen goods

I would happily buy it if Robert Fripp wasn't an autist who hates the internet.

>buy CD
>rip it
>tags make no goddamn sense
>>61163568
Most CDs aren't tagged (and aren't even in formats that support tags), modern music players recognise the CD and download tags off the internet. Blame Gracenote or Musicbrainz or whatever CD library your ripping program uses or whatever pleb submitted it to the database.

When I downloaded Dimmu Borgir's Entrhone Darkness Triumphant, not only the songs weren't in order, but they were also tagged and named (the files) wrong, as in each song was named another song from the same album. Idk
>>61163511
what I end up doing is retagging it:
ARTIST: [composer]
ALBUM ARTIST: [orchestra]
So conductor gets left out, but it scobbles okay enough.
