Agree. Butch Vig is an awesome producer. I would add also Flood, Alan Moulder and Justin-Meldal Johnsen.

>hip hop producers
>talented
These guys make the most simplistic music on the fact of the planet and they STILL have to plagiarize half their discography. No hip hop producer is god-tier, none. Most of them aren't even mediocre.

I'm into transcendent pop music, and that fuck has made several unbelievable pop tunes. I know he leans on his crew heavily, so it's really shorthand for all of Mad Decent… but

has Danger Mouse made a good record this decade?
>>61154801
Every Premo track sounds the same after a while. He does that sampled line from another hip-hop song with scratches over it for the chorus thing for 90% of his songs
>>61160445
He's working on something with red hot chilli peppers and also produced some tracks on adele's 25

I wouldn't necessarily disagree... I've listened to pretty much everything Diplo's released since his Hollertronix days. I've never seen him as a particularly amazing producer, more of a great ideas man and 'cultural remixer' if you will. No doubt he's made some fine tunes, though.
All his stuff these days, I'm not sure how responsible he is for it. As you said, the Mad Decent squad, I assume, do a lot of the heavy lifting. Since he stopped working with M.I.A., he's gone in a direction I'm not the biggest fan of. But it's good that he's makin money and getting recognition. I expect he'll win producer of the year at the Grammys.

I like you. Can you post more music/musicians/producers you really admire?
