Grunge was very good music, but the attitude it fostered ultimately killed rock by forcing it to give up on any aspirations it could have had. There is always a cycle of simple music, to complex music, to simple music. Rock>Prog>Punk>Metal>Grunge but Grunge raised a generation that saw anything that wasn't like it as unworthy of their attention. And they raised kids like that. Now that's all rock is.
