OA is pretty much the most unique album of the year hands down. LUM pretty much expresses his view of life on this, anyone who thinks it should have been MTI is full on retarded and can't see traits well. Slugs and Grave Within A Grave are fucking masterful
my only big gripe is how most of the record flows seamlessly but Opposite Lanes is more distinctly a standalone track. First listen I genuinely had no idea when one song ended and the next began because I wasn't watching the tracklist, but Opposite Lanes kinda stuck out.

I think the same thing happened with him that happened with Death Grips. He realized he said that he'd be releasing his last album, then he kept delaying it because he wanted to make a masterpiece swan song thing. It sounds overthought and irritating.
Also, it's hard to believe he tripled the length of his discography with old material after "quitting". He's probably not even done now.

Never dug his rapping that much, my favorite album of his is still Three Sided Tape Vol. 1 desu. "Achilles Foot" and "Collapse and Appear" are p cool
It's a great album 2bh. I've always been into him for the beats more than anything else. What makes him great is that he isn't a particularly outstanding rapper but he can do his own beats justice.
Some crazy shit going on sonically here which is cool.
I don't really worry about what's AOTY or not. Just glad to get some new LUM material.
