Yeah, I hold these albums in a very similar light actually.
When they both came out (on the same day, even, right?), I would just listen to one then listen to the other, and then repeat the same.
Both stellar pop albums, though I think Grimes' shines a bit brighter if only for having some more grit and being a bit more unique.
But it's almost like Ellie showed her master craft for a generation's worth of pop, while Grimes is ushering in the next one. Love both artists and especially this pair of albums.
This album was kinda trash. Which is sad, considering how much I loved Halcyon and Lights back in the day. She should stop hanging out with Taylor Swift and go back to hang out with Burial.

Taylor had 1989 which was virtually flawless, and it's cool to see that influence in Ellie from her friend
Her Beats 1 radio show is actually awesome, she loves a great range of music and it's cool to hear her tell that.
