I really think that the Sisters of Mercy mimic Suicide's sound (I think it's even in some liner notes on a compilation album). But only on their earlier stuff. Same kind of drum machine and frantic vocals (with added bass and guitar -- but very basic at that).
There's something really simple about Suicide but it works, in my opinion. Same with the Sisters.
