Same. There isn't enough subtlety or exploration of musical ideas in the songs. And the whole thing evokes the same mood, whereas I feel like most of their other LPs and EPs have more complex moods/themes. Still, there are some cool songs on it.

I honestly don't even pay attention to the cult shit in it (though it is a cool thing to see their inspiration in their work) and still enjoy it fully from a musical standpoint, I just consider the samples the same way as I would any other chopped voice tones in their music. Unless you're paying attention to the samples constantly I don't see how they could take away from the experience so much for you.

That's pretty awesome. I'm fucking old and followed Type O since World Coming Down in 2000 which is why I freakin love WCD. Dead Again was such a good closing album for Type O - it had the fast tracks like dead again and halowwen in heaven, the long epic tracks like september sun, and the weird humor like ode to the locksmith.

I'll say to you what I say to every world coming down fan. World Coming Down is a crushing, crushing album. It's an album that is significantly more depressing than it was ever meant to be by Peter Steele or anyone in the band. By the time you get to the end, Tracks like Pyretta Blaze, All Hallows Eve and even a Beatles medley aren't enough to cheer you up. Ever member of the band is dead, and everyone else is going to die. It's just too depressing, even for Type O.
The correct order is
October Rust > Dead Again > Slow, Deep and Hard > Bloody Kisses > Life is Killing Me > World Coming Down > Origin of the Feces
It's probably an 8/10, but it gets bumped down to a 6/10 because it's really not the kind of album you can listen to a whole lot. It's like Amnesiac, you need to be in the right frame of mind for it and 90% of the time, most people won't be.

Dead Again is a mix of every style from every previous album from the trash of the early stuff, the pink floyd-ey stuff from October Rust, even the Doom metal stuff from World Coming Down. The lyrics are a bit odd, but when they aren't they're amazing.

I agree with you about Dead Again, it really is a good mix of the previous styles and probably the most well-rounded type o album next to October Rust.
World Coming Down is one of their few albums which really doesn't have a bad/mediocre track. It's easily a 9/10 and just because it's depressing doesn't knock it down to a 6/10, that reason (Its so depressing) doesn't make much sense. I agree you have to be in a certain state of mind to listen to it all the way though, kind of like watching Requiem For a Dream.
Slow Deep and Hard is one of my least favorite Type O albums because I only enjoy the opener (Unsuccessfully Coping...) and the closer (Gravitational Constant...). Those are two of the best Type O songs in their entire catalog, but everything in the middle is bland.

Daisy has one, ONE really good song on it. At the Bottom is one of my fav tracks from any band. The rest is so fucking boring. The new single Menne that dropped like 6 months ago is good and hopefully the new album will be good too.

I love NIN but don't listen to them much anymore besides The Slip, Hesitation Marks, and The Fragile. Most of the other albums havn't aged well, but Year Zero or With Teeth are probably the worst.

Honestly though, the first time I listened to Frizzle Fry it reminded me of the uncanny weirdness of Gene Wilder's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. To see Primus put out their own version of that movie's soundtrack seems really natural and very welcome to me. I cannot bring myself to dislike that album.
