Let's be honest here.
>>
camel - the album with the gandalf song, I forgot its name.
>>
Close to the Edge by far, and those are all good albums. I feel like I'm hearing the voice of God on the final verse of Close to the Edge when what was once chill and groovy becomes intense and celestial.
>>
>>61106015
Unfortunately, Thick as Brick.
>>
>>61106015
Close to the Edge > Crimson King > Thick as a Brick > Selling England

They're all brilliant though
>>
>>61106064
Definitely superior to all the albums I posted, but I really just wanted to touch on the iconic classic Prog albums.
>>
TAAB > ITCOTCK > Selling England > Close to the Edge

>>61106064
Literally just a worse version of ITCOTCK
>>
>>61106160
You're joking about Red right? It's nothing like In The Court. Is this a meme of yours?
>>
>>61106015
Why did you post In the Court of the Crimson Kick when you could have posted Lark's Tongue in Aspic?
>>
Godbluff > TAAB > CTTE > ITCOTCK > That new Yes album > SEBTP
>>
ITCOTCK > TAAB > CTTE > SEBTP
>>
>>61106187
I think it's a serious meme. He obviously hasn't listened to a single one of them.
>>
>>61106079
Yes has a way with unbelievable emotional climaxs
>>
>>61106015
This is really hard, but

ITCOTCK > SEBTP > TAAB > CTTE

They're all amazing tho
>>
close to the edge is something out of this world, thick as a brick is good but overrated, selling england has some excellent tracks like moonlit night but some are just ok, and crimson is excellent, but close to the edge is better.
so CTTE>ITCOTCK>SEBTP>TAAB
>>
Selling England By The Pound>Close To The Edge>In The Court Of The Crimson King>Thick As A Brick
>>
>>61106160
thats a pretty modest rating
>>
>>61106793
Come on dude, I need something better than that.
>>
Close To The Edge > Selling England By the Pound > ITCOTCK > Thick As A Brick
>>

You thinking of In the Wake of Poseidon?
>>
>>61106015
ITCOTCK > Close to the Edge > Selling England > Thick as a Brick
>>
>>61106901
In the Wake of Poseidon is better that ITCOTCK
>>
SEbtP isn't even the best Genesis album

>>

ITCOTCK > CTTE > SEBTP > TAAB
or
CTTE > ITCOTCK > SEBTP > TAAB
>>
CTTE > ITCOTCK > TAAB > SEBTP
>>
>>61106064
This album is purely, utter, nonsense, it takes no talent to create a pile of garbage and just because it's arranged to sound like a shitty Disney movie knockoff with a kooky album artwork doesn't make it valid or interesting. Hence why it hasn't been given any good subsequent reviews years later, it's just "quirky" and "le random XD" to be "cool" for hipsters online.

Find some actual artistic and real music. Miles Davis. Roy Ayers. Erykah Badu.

Fuck off, cunt. Gain some music knowledge.
>>
>>61106015
Selling England by the Pound isn't the best album there but Firth of Fifth is better than any individual track from any of those other albums

Foxtrot is my favorite Genesis album. The other three are decent albums from bands that have done much better. If you wanted second-tier albums, you should have gone with Larks', Aqualung, and Fragile.

Steven Wilson mixed and remastered albums of King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Jethro Tull and Yes, he produced the best opeth album out there, he did a lot of side projects beside being part of PT, he has one of the best current guitarists on his solo albums Guthrie Govan, you cant deny that he has major influence in modern prog rock.

Prog rock ended a long time ago. It got assimilated into post-punk.

A couple of decent Mars Volta albums is not enough to say that prog is still an active genre.
