Also, what is the actual economic evidence that his policies won't work nationally? It seems crazy to me, given that we have centuries of records, and extremely detailed records and data since the 30's or so showing the net aggregate benefit of the socialist policies that have been attempted in US history. It's easy to just say that raising the minimum wage will put people out of business and cost jobs, but we have 60 years of records of every time it's been done and despite the fact that the boogeyman scenario has never happened, the conservatives are always there to say that THIS time they will.
Sure, Burlington isn't the USA, Sweden isn't either, various states that have tried more socialist policies aren't either, etc... but that's not actually evidence against the idea that they would work here, and it would be absurd to even make that distinction because throughout most of the last 100 years, the same 100 years that led to the current complex economy of the United states, we had a much more socialist policy agenda than the dregs we've had since the mid 70's when the neoliberalism consensus began.
