I love this album, which one of theirs should I listen to next? I enjoyed the overall sound of Long Division but it's a bit boring compared to their debut.

Also looking for less-known slowcore recs. I already know Duster, Carissa's Weird, Ida, Bedhead, Red House Painters and Codeine

My favorite Low records were always Secret Name and Things We Lost in the Fire. A bit more melody and craft than earlier, but they didn't fully turn on the bright and the rock until later. I could be wrong, but I think Secret Name seems to be a concept album about the book of Revelations.

If you know about Ida (they know about you!), Karla's other band Beekeeper was also good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O47CTq1kU2s
And Ida covered a song by Secret Stars (Geoff from Karate)

Virtually invented slowcore, helped Red House Painters get recognized and signed. AMC had a really good mix of reverb heavy vocals, rock instrumentation, and guitars. Check out California, Everclear and Mercury. Mark Eitzel has a really good solo career and Vudi their guitarist was in the final lineup of Swans back in the 90's

Also OP if you want some good rec's on Ohia's discography check out Axxess & Ace, Didn't It Rain, and The Magnolia Electric Co. Often more folk/alt-country/indie but songs like Redhead border on acoustic slowcore. Super fucking depressing lyrics too because he ended up becoming a massive alcoholic and dying because of it later in life (despite never drinking until the early-mid 00's due to an alcoholic mother)

Cheers.

Since you're interested in Duster/Valium Aggelein, I HIGHLY recommend these early, unreleased Helvetia tracks I've collected over the years. Helvetia is Jason and Dove from Duster. They're still around, and are great, but only infrequently sound like Duster or slowcore at all. These songs feel close to the Duster aesthetic. They are also wonderful. Enjoy.

Curtain Hits The Cast and Things We Lost In The Fire.

Whatever you do don't listen to Bluetile Lounge, they are shit.

Emo has a zillion more bands and lots of subgenres. We'd have to allow incorporating some quiet folk, ambient, space rock and krautrock.
>>
>>61095469

I also recommend Rivulets, and Ida too
>>
>>61100698
Port of Charleston is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Some Alt-Country, Americana and Dream pop

I would possibly be on board with this...

Would it be like those Ry Cooder soundtracks or Calexico?
>>
>>61098755

I don't think that word means what you think it does
>>
>>61101652
Bonnie Prince Billy, Bruce Springsteen- Nebraska, Uncle Tupelo, Ryan Adams- Heartbreaker

Stuff like that

Is Ghosts of the Great Highway slowcore?
