Why are music critics so predictable and boring, always promoting the same garbage that is expected to be praised?

That music critic isn't boring, though they are shitty.

this is wank
>>
why do you even read pitchfork in the first place ?

it's like if you search brazilian scat porn and later complain to your friends that it's disgusting
>>
tbphwy i'm not even mad that it's pitchfork's AOTY because it's actually a great album, which makes a change
i'm mad because of how fucking poorly they've interpreted it, like how dumb are the people who write for this site that they've managed to miss the point of the album by such an insane distance
did they even listen to it
it bugs me because i feel like for every person who's got a legitimate and well-informed reason for disliking the album, there's another guy who dislikes it because pitchfork told them it's got a political agenda that it doesn't even have
>>
>>61093444
What is the point of the album according to you?
>>
>>61093348

I don't give a shit about hip hop. I meant that for a media business that is supposed to be about recognizing artistry and originality in music, they are stupidly unoriginal, always praising the same garbage, specially hip hop. One would expect that they would listen to music other than the albums they get in the mail for free.
>>
>>61093469
the album's about the trials and temptations that kendrick's encountered as a result of his fame and wealth
that's just my opinion, obviously, but what's more important is that kendrick himself has said that the album is about his own personal struggles and emotions and isn't intended to reflect any political agenda or larger movement
>>
>>61093506
if you think that tpab is lacking in artistry then you have no idea what you're talking about. just cause you don't like black music doesn't mean it's objectively valueless as art. fucking idiot.
>>
The same reason blockbusters are completely predictable and boring. They need mass-appeal to support themselves and that means focusing a lot of attention on artists that are popular at the moment.
>>
they make money off of it
>>
>>61093349
You are shitty with your Tumblr canned opinions, that album is good faggot fuck off with your forced memes, hating on one of the most creative people in the industry, and then praising niggers: the album
>>61093551
You're either a nigger or go to college for nigger studies
>>
TPAB is probably the best album that got this much focus in a LONG TIME. Name 5 better famous albums from the best 15 years.

Most music "critics" are in the business of generating clicks from sheeple who visit their sites, not in the business of writing insightful critique.
>>
>>61094145
Overlong, overwrought, garbage album that sounds like a prog rock version of Blink-182
>>
>>61094178

Or because Titus fucking sucks.
>>
critics are boring and predictable because they are in a business and have to play to their audience's expectations to keep their careers alive.

music fans are boring and predictable because most people listen to music to feel part of something, not for the actual music itself. everyone has an agenda, subconscious or otherwise. yes this includes me i'm sure
>>
>>61093551
kendrick is pretty full of himself if he thinks white people in general hate his kind.
>>
>>61093348
>>61093405
yeah T&Y is the worst "AOTY" by far

I'm sure he would be in your bizarre fantasy world
I guess complete ignorance is how racism usually happens

I don't know about you, but I have been boycotting Pitchfork ever since they've been bought by Conde Nast.

I read Sputnikmusic, The Wire, Quietus, and RYM instead with adblock turned off.

Seriously, they should've at least let it sit for a while before putting it on any list at all.

I find it funny how many sites and blogs placed Kendrick Lamar on top, but funnier that the one's that didn't put Grimes on the top.
