gently dropping off is noticably post-processed using paulstretch. you should look at using different effects to make your ambient. I use a reverb vst called glaceverb, and a really sweet tape delay vst called etap2 engineer. you're definitely good at textures though, following.

since this is a demo, I'll just give some tips that I think would benefit you. make the drums a little more prominent, make the portamento on that lead a bit shorter, and you should make some subtle changes to the atmosphere throughout the track. not bad tho.

This is easily one of the better new things I've heard in one of these threads in a while.
I've never heard this blend of genres used this way; neo-classical string arrangements with jazz-fusion/prog-esque drums? There's this jarring feedback from the strings about halfway through that's somewhat dissonant but leads back in to the progression that just makes me elicits a lot of emotion from me.
Overall though, it's the section with the bass and the piano that gets me hardest though, it just speaks to me. The fuzzy lo-fi production just makes it delicious. This is probably one of the first legitimate 10/10 tracks I've heard in here in a while. Damn fine work, anon. I'm interested to see where it's gonna fit in terms of arrangement on an album, what with the droning outro, at first I saw it as a bit anti-climactic but the more I listen to it the more I feel the emptiness it seems like it was meant to entail.

Honestly one of my favorite posters on SC. Glad to see you guys are putting out more material. This gives me strong vibes of early Fates Warning for some reason. You definitely do have potential. It seems like you have a basic understanding of flow and arrangement, and you seem to have a concept of where you wanna take your sound, it just needs some fine-tuning. Your phrases seem a little simplistic at the moment, I'd work on writing out lyrics and trying to add more imagery and fleshing out your phrases. Amor Fati is fucking awesome though man, that seems to be your strongest point. This is the kind of hip-hop I could definitely get behind. Keep pressing on, just work on fine-tuning your sound. Compositionally this is pretty dope, and I love your wordplay in the more complex songs. Try to focus towards that sound you get in Amor Fati, the emphasis on thoughtfulness, it comes across really well. The Sagan sample was a nice touch there, I recommend using more like it, it adds a lot of depth to your sound.

I think I remember hearing your work before in previous threads. Beautiful arrangements as always, though I think the ambient idea is more your forte, while I do like your newest track. Stuff like The Wind Is Howling, A Butcher Is Weeping is your strongest suit, it seems. Long, droning pads, delicate piano, atmospheric sampling, this is perfection for soundtrack, though I suppose if you're a soundtrack composer you do need more energetic pieces like "Lower Your Weapons, That's An Angel!"

really cool instrumental. sounds great with the synth. Vocals with the whole reverb effect sound really cool. I would say that you need to work on your lyrics though. The lyrics don't really seem to mean anything in this song, and like the other guy said, they are forgettable. Also, make sure that you can clearly hear the lyrics too. It sounds cool with all the reverb and what not, but was also kind of hard to hear. Otherwise, great song, and I think your songs will sound awesome with improved lyrics.

most of the piano based ambient I make is using loops and subtly adding more delay and reverb as the loops progress. I will admit tho that this was pretty much a one-shot thing

I checked out your bandcamp and the track you posted from soundcloud and I like your sound. I like the minimal instrumentation and the production is fucking crazy. Sounds like some crazy musique concrete shit almost. It's like your combining some strange musical styles together. It's a great amateur-ish (not in a bad way) sound that really endorses uniqueness. I usually just skip over posts based on the genre if I don't think I can helpfully critique, though I thought I'd just say I like this track. I've not really had anything to do with neofolk or acoustic music apart from the odd listen to King Dude. I like the general vibe I'm getting, and it's probably a genre I'd like to explore more in the future. Very different to the other tracks you've posted in terms of production from what I can tell, which is nice. It's even more grating and rough, so good for people who like such textures.

I'd probably lose the #drone tag until you refine your skills. As far as ambiance goes, it works well, despite being fairly noisy. If you're looking to use your guitar at all, I'd suggest investing in some pedals, a beefy amp and a good digital recorder. Unless you're going down the DAW route, drone usually requires some serious hardware.

so, i listened to "slow down", and i'm a little mixed about it.
i'll start off with the positives though. i do like the instrumental. and i also enjoy that solo around the 2:00 mark (although you do start to fuck up later on). although the production isn't perfect, it still sounds really good. the thing that makes it mostly mixed for me is the vocals. i would even go as far as to say that it almost completely kills the song. it's mostly off-key and it just sounds like you're really, really bored.
