Post your favourite underheard stuff, post stuff that is almost shoegaze but isn't, talk about your band and how they aren't just an MBV/Slowdive rip off. Also what releases are you looking forward to in 2016?

These guys were part of the backing band on Lilys - In The Presence Of Nothing

I guess this fills most of your requests:
https://memorialsofdistinction.bandcamp.com/album/beach-bodies-2008-2014

So close to shoegaze but it isn't. Horribly unheard outside of /mu/ (even within the cassette world and general shoegaze fan world).

Also, I've got fingers crossed for more stuff in 2016 but I haven't heard any news or anything so it looks unlikely.

Any links to Buddha on the moon's discography?

Why is japanese shoegaze always so twinky
I bet the japanese would be best at heavy, noisy shoegaze if they ever made it
>>
Are these considered Shoegaze?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=261zGDX6WF8
>>
Deftones should be classified as shoegaze
>>
some good less posted stuff. I know Beat Happening isn't /shugazi/ but I feel like they'd fit with the jangly Galaxie 500 brand of dream pop.
>>
>>61093822
should consider adding Swirl by Here on there as well, don't really hear about them much even though they're pretty good.
>>
>>61092622
check out dive man they did great heavy stuff

Stoked for these guys to release more shit. Found this while going through a shit ton of bands because I'm picky.

Just 3 songs, but I love the variety. First track's medium-speed alt-rock influenced, while the second is uptempo hardcore-punk influenced, and the third is cathartic heavy slowcore.

Go ahead and shit in my mouth you shoegaze snobs but someone rec me more shit that sounds like Nothing, Whirr, Iris, Lust and Cloakroom. Heavy shit that isn't blackgaze. Must be influenced by both hardcore punk and grunge, with sweet maj7/min7/maj9/min9 chords. Already gone through most of the /into/ charts and gone through tons of lists so the more obscure the better.

You should check out Odonis Odonis, they're more on the noise rock end of the spectrum but could be what you're looking for
https://soundcloud.com/buzzrecords/new-obsession
Also, Spectres (though I personally think a lot of their stuff is sorta weak)

and obviously

eh Odonis isn't my taste. I feel like a lot of industrial post-punk sounds like 90s underground club music with cheap electronic drums, but I can get the appeal. Have A Nice Life is pretty cool but I don't like listening to them often. I love Haunted Horses though, especially because their drummer is fucking sick and it feels more organic than machine like. I'm kind of a drum snob.
Spectres is pretty cool. A little too dissonant for my tastes, since I love sweet dream-pop/jazz-pop chords like I mentioned. Probably won't listen to more of these guys.
I'm digging I Am The Svn the most but bass is lacking so badly in the mix.
Thanks for trying senpai.

Pity Sex always comes up, and I love their chords, but the fuzz gets boring after a while for me. Vocals ruin it for me. Liking the rhythm section though.
Liking Wildhoney's vibe but not something I'd really enjoy often since they don't get heavy as much as I'd like them to and the bass is too low in the mix for me.

I'm a snob.
>>
>>61096017
I had a feeling you wouldn't like them. I just put them with Nothing, Whirr, Iris, and Cloakroom as kind of grunge/emo influenced shoegaze.

Why do they get no love here? Some of the prettiest atmospheres in shoegaze.
>>
>>61096017
If bass on that track is lacking, it might be your headphones/speakers since it's pretty low/deep (actually a bit overblown on studio headphones/speakers) but yeah, the bass guitar in Nothing's songs has a much more prominent overall sound
Try out these guys, they've only put out one EP so far but it's pretty dope

Good shit but the bassist sounds out of tune. Pretty sure she's trying to go from root to 4th but she sounds like she's playing flat 5th.

I think the drummer and his bassist wife were into the hardcore punk scene in Philly but check out Creepoid. I've only heard their latest album, Cemetery Highrise Slum but hey definitely have a grunge sound to them plus they sound great live.
>>
>>61096104
listening to their ep right now and goddamn so much bending makes me feel like I'm being melted beyond my will
really good shit, but might take a bit for me to get into them
thanks famfam
>>
>>61096266
I almost saw creepoid play with marriages and birth of flower but I felt sick that day ugh
just pulled up cemetery highrise slum and holy fuck this is good although the vocalist's a bit too reminiscent of nirvana which is kinda okay
thank you
>>
>>61096367
The 2nd time I saw them was when they opened for Marriages. They were awesome and blew away Marriages imo.

Swirlies and FSA are both golden
>>
>>61091391
Hum is a great example of being almost shoegaze but not quite making it, its a tad heavier and not as hazey
>>
>>61096219
I like this album but shoegaze? It's pretty dreamy but I felt it's more to the "post-rock" label.
>>
kinda burned out on shoegaze/dream pop these days but this is an all-time favourite
