What does /mu/ think of Jethro Tull?
Is this not a fucking goat prog album?
>>61088769
One of my favourite albums of all time
All their stuff until Stormwatch is great
>tfw own the version that came with the full newspaper
o it b good
Grew up listening to them because even in the 90's my dad still played all their shit constantly. Thick is a really good album, but I think a lot of their best stuff gets overlooked on this board. Minstrel in the Gallery is basically a perfect album.

My father introduced me to Jethro Tull through "Stand Up" Love all of their work from "Stand Up" to "Heavy Horses".
I feel WarChild is one of the more underrated release's. The title track is a 10/10.
>writing a song glorifying child molestation
Good jerb.

OP here.
Feels good man.
More like thick as my dick
which explains the length of the song
Ian Anderson destroyed his voice so fast it wasn't funny.

Haha, pretty much same timeframe for me, except Fylingdale Flyer also factored heavily in the rotation. I think every mixtape he made for car rides in the 90's had Tull on at least one side. And I agree, War Child is super underrated, no doubt.
>>61088816
they cost like $4
>>61088964
It took him 35+ years, so I wouldn't call it fast, but he did it utterly and completely, there's no doubt.
>"I didn't want to be just another third-rate guitar player who sounded like a bunch of other third-rate guitar players. I wanted to do something that was a bit more idiosyncratic, hence the switch to another instrument. When Jethro Tull began, I think I'd been playing the flute for about two weeks. It was a quick learning curve ... literally every night I walked onstage was a flute lesson."

Got mine in near mint condition for $7 so yeah.

>35+ years
He was done by the time Reagan was president.

Thank god I had a dad who believes you're supposed to stop listening to rawk after graduating HS.
>>61089030
Your dad is a fucking tool, and it seems like he raised one too.
>>61089060
Actually he listened to classical and blues as a teenager anyway, so...meh.
>>61089030
Why the negativity? Tull is super corny, but it's sweet music anyway. I'm just glad my dad spent time with me when I was growing up.
>>61089127
>but it's sweet music anyway

What song do you think glorifies child molestation?
Thick as a Brick was my favorite album when I was going through my prog phase around 13-14.
Still have a soft spot in my heart for it to this day,
>>61090369
>prog phase
Why would you ever grow out of prog it's the greatest subgenre of rock music
ive never listened to this i look forward one day though
>>61090414
he took the fedora meme too serious
he probably put his rush albums in the bin kinda sad desu
>>61090414
I still like it, but when I was 14 I literally listened to like 5 albums
>Thick as a Brick
>The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
>The Wall
>Dark Side of the Moon
>ITCOCK
>>61090451
Well ok then
Do you like any modern prog
>>61090423
For a ~43 minute long song it's not only listenable, but an absolutely wholly enjoyable experience.
