There's virtually zero point in ever worrying about the perception of things you give faint praise.
This album was great. The sempiternal served as a transititon album that foreshadowed That's the Spirit. I think this new side of BMTH came out great. It's still heavy but there's no way to argue it's any sort of metal anymore.
