Hard to say because he's done so much, been putting out solid gold for the past 30 years. I really like his album Good Dog, Happy Man, which is basically very extended improvisations over country tunes with some GREAT musicians. Have a Little Faith is reputed as his masterpiece by some, and it's fucking great although the Copland at the start might push you away if you're not into contemporary classical. The Intercontinentals is a good pick if you're into pop music, it's generally fast paced and has some real interesting arrangements. Everything he puts out is beautiful and life-affirming.

I actually haven't listened to Unspeakable yet, although it's got a very very similar lineup to Intercontinentals which I fucking adore.
I actually am taking classes at the University of Washington, where Frisell stops by every here and there, he's got some weird associate professor title. I haven't met him yet but a friend of mine takes workshops with him, and he says that he might be able to get the two of us in touch sometime. Who knows.
