Sure thing
These ones are getting up there, especially Deadwing.
>>61075033
It's too bad it's so hard to get nowadays, because I feel like the ziggurat has become way more popular lately. I think I first discovered the album in 2009 or 2010, and even back then I was bummed that you couldn't find any physical copies. Then they did a reprint in 2011 I think, and that's when I got it. Should have ordered a couple more and sold now.
>>61075029

I love that album. If you're still into glitchy sounding shit I recommend you give it another listen.
>>61074757
This right here is very rare. The Japanese CD version which contains an epic heavy rock/industrial metal song which cannot be found anywhere online nor on itunes (unless you want to listen to it on youtube). It is one of my fav tracks with how catchy it is: "Flesh Doll For Sale".

Say what you want about the album but I think it is solid.

Have A Nice Life - Deathconsciousness promo cd. My friend, who owned a now defunct record store, gave me this when he closed. It is pretty neat. Straight from The Flenser.
>>61074757
The CD The Look by rapper Waldo has remixes of the P. Gessle song. This CD is now extremely hard to find. I know no one will know who Waldo is. He was in the group Waldo's People which is a Euro Pop Dance group.
His CD Face The Fact with song by same name is one of my fav songs!
It blends with great sounds of physical drums and electrical guitars while he raps. There is even an acoustic version of the track which sounds absolutely amazing for individuals who are interested in experimental genres such as nu metal.
Again I know no one will know who I am talking about but you said post rare and so I am doing that, giving you guys insight into some artists.
>>61074757
Anyone have a first gen pressing of LUM - MTI?
>>61075443

>>61075580
Damn, that's pretty awesome
>>61074757
This is limited to 555 copies. An album which contains remixes off one of Pzychobitch's albums.
For those who like electronical/industrial/ambient music.
As of yesterday I now have two copies of this LP. The left is the original pressing of about 100 copies, right is the new kickstarter repress of about 500 copies (according to discogs).
So both are actually pretty rare. Considering selling off the repress at some point though.
>>61075341
same here lmao, if have my dad's first-pressing but its kinda messed up
Megasus 1st limited edition vinyl, 200 units. Comes with a patch, sticker, dl card and a huge poster.
>>61075597
It really is. Fucking impossible to find. And I happen to like the music on it much more than their later stuff, it's more like rock.
>>61074757

>>61078356
oh yeah and i found soundtracks recently too
>>61078381
Without counting some Dutch records or compilations, which I can't bother to look up if they are rare, these are probably my rarest records. The Midori record rarely goes for less than 100 Euro on Discogs, and I've read that the Tricot lp was limited to 300 presses.
Bluffer's Guide to the Flight Deck: 1 of 525
Multi Love blue: 1 of 500
Mountians (dutch version): Don't actually know but there seem to be few copies going around
I don't know how many pressings a lot of my music has, but I've got a lot of obscure EBM CDs with between 0 and 10 others on Discogs claiming to have them
I've got a 25 disc box set of Douglas Adams reading the unabridged versions of the 5 Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy novels which I'm sure is quite rare, especially as the cases are shit and a lot of copies were damaged by the cases coming apart in transit and scratching the discs up.
The most provably rare thing I have is the limited edition of Unterbeat by Accessory which had 180 copies and came with a shirt, signed postcard, mug in a branded sort of lunch-box-bag-style thing
>>61075604

toro y moi - body angles
hand numbered/signed by chaz
I might be buying something rare soon, I need some help. I've been looking all over RYM and Discogs but I can't find a certain David Bowie album. It's a 12" and has the logo from "Let's Dance" but in rainbow colors, and a somewhat close up picture of Bowie (I think looking to the right).
I don't know why I didn't give it a better look at the time, but I was just rummaging through looking for something else.
Can someone PLEASE help me? I can't go back to that flea market until the weekend. I've tried everything!
>>61083348

Also Alien Rap, it isn't rare but I like saying that.

and no that wasn't a typo, it says in all caps 'LANT ANYTHING'
also have one of the copies of dopesmoker that they printed in one of a bajillion limited edition weedian colors but i dont really think that counts

>>61084831
they weren't even that expensive. Found bath/lybm at the local store but ordered pts online. Haven't come across any kayo dot albums though

are you serious
i guess the rarest vinyl i have is the GBV - Bee Thousand [Director's Cut], def one of my most expensive it goes for like 120 or something
if you're a fan of gbv and like bee thousand i really recommend checking it out
I've got one of the early Deathconciousness pressings but I don't think there's any way to prove that anymore. Also have the motW Bath/LYBM box set
My girlfriend says she has a copy of Illinois on CD with Superman on the cover but I haven't seen it
This might be """rare""" it's David Bowie's Diamond Dogs (AYL1-3889) it was made in 1980 and it's on Dynaflex, which RCA stopped using in the late 70's. I got it for $6 which is the normal price on discogs but I like to think it's the last album put on Dynaflex.

>maudlin of the Well - Bath + LYBM (black vinyl, didn't grab the Secret Song 7")
>Nirvana MTV Unplugged (ORG pressing on black wax)

This basically never happens. You go in record stores to buy stuff on impulse.
That being said, I did score a 1st press ( ) when I worked at a second hand record store, but I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't get 50% off because I worked there. But it's basically unlistenable, has a lot of surface noise.

>>61081336
how much you want for it?
I have a couple tapes limited to 50 or below, like YYU - TIMETIMETIME&TIME, Evenings - Lately, and Saint Pepsi - World Tour (/20 total). A couple records /50 or /25 that /mu/ probably woudn't care about. Right now I'm trying to wrangle a Caddywhompus test pressing limited to 10. Also The Shaggs, which is not particular super rare, just difficult to find for a non-stupid price.
>>61087653
Does this include a log and/or a cue?
If not could you sometime do a rip with this included?
prob the only thing I have that is "rare" i know that Trent tried
to get interscope to rerelease the vhs in dvd form but they

and I also found it for like 4 bucks at my local record shop :-)
>>61088414

300 on black vinyl, 200 on gold vinyl. I have one of each.
B L A C K I E - Gen
Only 200 copies pressed, and I have #25.
Akimbo - Live To Crush
500 hand-numbered copies were released for RSD 2013. A few months ago, however, the label found what they had left of the 30 or so hand-numbered promo copies they had kicking around. I own copy P15.

Some of the "Official Bootleg" live CDs might be harder to find than others, simply because there would be no reason to press many copies of any one of those releases due to them releasing so damn many of them. I'm sure it's also a safe bet to assume any old CD singles are long out of print. Not sure if anything there qualifies as "rare," though.
Also, what's that one above Binaural? I haven't been keeping up with the band since Riot Act, so I don' recognise that box-looking thing.

i kind of feel bad about blackie because he's doing so much for indpendant noise and industrial and his production is pretty good but his vocals and themes are just so shit

I'd probably hate his vocals too if it weren't for the fact that I grew up listening to punk and hardcore. Angry screaming vocals are my jam.
Also, looking through this thread, I have to ask: Are Swans albums really all that rare? I can understand the LPs being limited due to when the band started out, but how hard to find are their CDs?
Both original pressings with artwork and booklets

damn good albums, but not rare at all...

fugg upside down sorry.
the "Yes" album has 3 vinyl records, a 4 page artwork gatefold and a separate booklet

Depends on the CD. Original digipak versions of their 90s albums and reissues are somewhat hard to find, but not extremely so. Average price is about 30 bucks I think. The handmade CDs, however, are very limited, so those can definitely count as rare.
