ITT: faux avantgarde (1)
(1) faux avantgarde: of pretending to be avantgarde while playing mellow pop music
Spirit They've Gone
itt; people who think they're superior because they listen to Feldman and Glass

ITP: Newfag who really should know by now not to take every negative criticism of music he likes to heart

avant-garde music is shit anyway
>>61074060
also this
>>61073988
thank god that album is not real avantgarde, i hate that kind of music (free jazz/experimental rock, etc)
How do you know what music is pretending to be? Maybe you should reword it as "of owning a fanbase that pretends it is avantgarde when in reality it is mellow pop music".
Also if Arca fits that description then so does autechre. Mutant is literally a louder and more melodic version of Draft 7.30.

That's the point of this thread guy, it was avant-garde when Autechre did it but it isn't when someone copies it a decade later.
And while I'm at it Thom's attempts at riffing Autechre are even more laughable than Arca.

literally nobody in radiohead thinks their music is avant garde, the only people who do are people who can count the albums they've listened to on their hands
that said this isn't a serious thread because its scaruffi-posting
>>61073988
Wait... does someone in this world think Radiohead is avant-garde?
>>61073988
Does everything have to be surprising and uncomfortable for you?
Do you enjoy using language or regulating your emotions?
Wait there are seriously people, right now, on this very Earth we live in, that imply that Radiohead is good?
