Room mate goes shopping there. I just put my colored pencils in there for drawings.

Should I post more for people to salivate over my collection? Also, I should add one detail: not one of the LPs in my collection was over a dollar. I buy everything from thrift stores. I'm located in one of the greatest areas when it comes to thrift stores. I feel bad for rural folk.

You don't deserve those.
>>
>>61066278

Like I said, I payed $1.05 cents for each one of those records. I bought them all at thrift stores. That Drums and Wires is actually sealed. I've found 10 LPs unopened in total, which isn't saying much considering how much stuff I have. But when you're only paying a buck it really is quite a treasure.
>>
>>61066278
You'd be surprised how cheap vinyl can be. You just have to be open to everything, know where to go, and not be an idiot with your money.
>>
>>61066338

Yeah, cause shelves are going to magically make them some how better?? I will agree that it'd make it easier to manage them and that I intend to buy a shelf. But they're not going to somehow be better on a shelf.
>>
>>61066381

Random selection. Also, to the guy complaining about my lack of shelves. That isn't all of my collection. There's about a hundred or so more sitting in a chest that's sealed, if that makes you feel any better about my record keeping habits.

>>61066597

Nope to all of those. I don't bring water anywhere near the damn things. There's no bugs in my apartment anyhow. Bugs that eat paper would have already gotten to those records seeing that I bought them at a thrift store. The records are all pretty much facing the same direction so there ends are protected for the most part from dust, but even the last row don't see any dust. You're just overzealous. Most damage that comes to records is when you pull them out and take them back off the platter. You're damn greasy hands are the main thing that damages records. Not dust. And as I said, I don't see much dust getting in em. The CD digipacks I tend to place near the top of the stacks, actually. I've never knocked over a stack of records. And paper sleeves are going to get rubbed regardless if they're in a sleeve or not.
>>
>>61066697

I don't really think I was. It was merely in jest. I'm simply bored tonight and saw that someone wanted to show off their recent purchase. I actually have never shown anything I recently purchased or my own collection. I'm just bored like anyone else here and figured I'd pass the time by showing my collection. You pass the time by being snooty.
>>
>>61064958
I ordered mine from England to US, and the shitheel packed it (I shit you not) between two pieces of corrugated cardboard taped together. So my copy has 45 degree bends at all the corners where the vinyl didn't give the package any structural rigidity. Fucking limey bastards.
>>
>>61066904

You still have to touch them with your hands, unless you are using a cloth to grab it on the edge like I do. And if you have them in paper sleeves they will get scuffed eventually, do you use polyethylene inner sleeves?

LAUGHING STOCK VINYL REISSUE COMING JANUARY 2016

FINALLY NO MORE 95$ FOR THAT LAST REISSUE
>>
>>61067254

Not really rare, there are two current reissues you can get for a reasonable price.
>>
>>61067200

Have you not been paying attention? I get everything from a thrift store. Some of it is already damaged up to a certain degree. That being said the paper sleeves are an issue. My room mate has actually nagged me on that issue. That's the only point I would concede because paper breaks down and can rub against the vinyl. In any case though, damage to records, again, is mostly caused by grease on the fingers. Do I use a cloth to pull the record out of the sleeve? Jesus Christ no. I'm not that much of a nerd because I realize that the edge has no music there. It's built so as to be pulled. You're gripe seems to be more about just being pissy. I'm curious, why don't you take some pics of your collection. Just curious.
>>
>>61067248
Ayo I got that Torch of the Mystics too, hi 5
>>
>>61067296

Goddamn. Your* Me correcting myself.
>>
>>61067296
Even if the edge doesn't have music you are gonna touch the inside grooves some by accident. Using a cloth is extremely easy to do and takes like 5 seconds longer, not hard to do or nerdy at all, unless caring about your collection is nerdy. Why are you so offended anyway, I'm just trying to help.
>>
>>61067301
Got it on sale for only $12 shipped too, Expermedia has really good sales sometimes.
>>
>>61067365

You're not trying to help. You're being a dick. You're just back tracking now. If I noticed a difference in my records when they played I'd change my habits. However I do not change them since I haven't noticed a change. I clean them with a velvet brush each time I put them on the platter though just to keep any particles that may get into the stylus out.
>>
>>61067231
what's that one in the top left? seen it before but can't remember it. help a brother out
>>
>>61067410
Maybe you didn't notice a change yet, or you just aren't looking hard enough but by the time there is a problem it will be too late, if you have any rare records at least take care of those better. If not, your loss.
>>
>>61067365

Anyway, are you going to show some pics of your collection or not?

Objekt - Flatland
>>
>>61066985
oh the tuss neat, what's bottom right
>>
>>61067467

It would be immediately noticeable. And in any case I don't eat a bag of potato chips and then jump to grab a record to throw on. I made sure that my hands are clean before I handle a record. I might as well ask if you keep your cloth away from collecting dust, because that's what cloth does. It collects dust. Or do you clean it after days pulling of records. Good grief.
>>

>>
>>61068098
But they will last longer if you take good care of them.
>>
>>61068078

This should be pretty simple, but you're making it difficult. Here we go: you pick up the record once to take it out, right? Yup. Then you put the cloth down. Then you pick it back up again to pick the record up once again to put it back in the sleeve. So, did you make sure to use the side that you had used before, or did you accidentally use the side that you put your hand on? Even if you don't do it that time. Do you place it down and remember each time what side you put down? I hope you do realize I'm just taking your own rules and taking them to their logical extreme. You want anal retentive bull shit I'll push it further up there all you want.
>>
>>61068144
You make too many assumptions, one side of my hand has the cleaning cloth, the other hand I just use my palm to carefully push against the non playing edge on the record.
>>
>>61068136

Even taking standard care for them (not touching the grooves, keep them safe etc), they will outlive you and at least two more generations. You're a person, not a federal program for music preservation.
>>
>>61065571
Is that your bed? Why would you keep all those old albums and cds near where you sleep, gross.
>>
>>61068196
They will sound better, look better, and have better resale value if you take better care of them. Is this hard to understand?
>>
>>61064958
I have El Producto from The Avalanches coming in tomorrow
>>
>>61068188

You're not answer a very simple question: you put the cloth down once the record is on the platter? Right, right. Then you have to pick it up once more to take it off the platter. How do you know which side is which? Answer it or else you risk going to vinyl keepers hell
>>
>>61068202

No I did really good posting, you should be embarrassed for getting this worked up over my posts, I'm sitting here laughing the whole time at how much you seem to care about this pointless banter.
>>
>>61068669

This is probably the cloth keeper trying to go to the opposite extreme to swing the forces back his way. Do not trust this daemon.
>>
>>61068695

Funny. I'm laughing too. And it appears that other people are making stabs at you as well. Not so much me though. Huh. Weird. I'm going to call you the "Projection and Cloth" though. I like that name
>>
>>61068709
Fuck you, I can store my records how I like, I'm gonna die eventually so why should I take care of them at all.
>>
>>61068731

Really, I'm not. You really are just that annoying. If you think there aren't people that find you equally annoying as myself then you are sadly mistaken. You are fantastically annoying. I would hate to step into your apartment. I bet you make people take off their shoes when they walk inside. God, I hate you fucks.
>>
>>61068811
Except you are, the amount of posters has stayed the same throughout. You aren't fooling anyone.
>>
>>61068792

Nope. Only about half of those are mine. Keep trying though. Cloth keeper.

>>61068842
Going so far as to edit the screenshot? You care way too much about this lmfao. I'm busting up laughing at you this whole time.
>>
>>61068875
Really nigga? You're trying way too hard now.
>>
>>61068875

Ah, okay. I didn't post that. But at this point you pretty much are going to think there's only been one guy that has raised a voice against your cloth keeping habits. Anyway, have a good time with that cloth.
>>
>>61068895
Says the screenshot photoshopper.
>>
>>61068930
How the fuck would I edit that in 3 minutes? And on a fucking phone? Grow up nigga.
>>
I'm going to sleep. I can't believe I stayed up this long. This has been kinda fun, but now I'm thinking I could've done something more productive with my time, like jack off.
>>
>>61068944
Using multiple IPs to make it look like you aren't the same person, you really try too hard.
>>
>>61068951
It was fun for me at least, not really a waste of time since I got a ton of hearty laughs out of it. Sorry you didn't enjoy your time with me that much.
>>
>>61068990

You're very tough. Made of the toughest of stuff with them hearty laughs. Oh good heavens. You must just be made of heartiness.
