Vampire Weekend is probably the most dull band in the world right now. They are firmly a 5.0. Nothing excruciatingly bad, but nothing they do is in any way exciting or interesting. Everything follows a really safe route. Their songwriting is standard, their instrumentation is well done but utterly uninteresting no matter how many marimbas they throw in. The Kids Don't Stand A Chance is a soon to be college grad looking at his classmates as future business people and this the loss of their innocence and their university free-spirits. I Think Ur A Contra ties together the themes of being compassionate and real with others despite a disagreement because there's more to people than agreeing with them. Young Lion, after a whole album of a man finding himself frustrated with life and God, and outside voice basically comes along and says "Take it easy, it's gonna be alright" as if to say that's what God really is.
