So in what direction do I go to get more music like this? Slowcore or dream pop? The beauty of this album is something I've never experienced before and I want more.

There's nothing exactly like it, unfortunately.

Check out Galaxie 500 though, they've very comfy.
>>
>tfw this album resonates with me about as much as dried garbage on a Monday morning
>tfw missing out on the fun

I like Duster - Contemporary Movement a bit, though

First out their other album. Then their EP's. Then their rarities compilation. Then check out Gravenhurst and Jessica Bailiff for more shoegazish slowcore. Then check out Galaxie 500 and Red House Painters.

Yeah, same. I don't get this album. Carissa's Wierd and Codeine are my go to for slowcore.

disgusting

Bedhead is one of my favorites. Do you like Bluetile Lounge by any chance? They kind of remind me of each other.
>>
>>61064028

Been pimping my cache of unreleased Helvetia (Jason from Duster) songs in every Duster thread I see these days. 15 songs. Much closer to Duster than any of their later stuff. Especially Lost in Space. Not on the Gladness comp.

Some forgotten bands from that era with similar sounds/feels:
>A Day Called Zero
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm_h8yI3MVg
>Cars Get Crushed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG_QyKgT_s8
>Red Stars Theory
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PddKsMiGnUY&index=9&list=PLpmOjDwEQtaNOYUT4SddDMUPfd6CyZz-p
>Actually most RST stuff is kinda boring post emo with precious lyrics/vocals, but they had a sound designer in the band and occasionally he went full experimental dub. This song is pretty good, but I recommend Becomes For The Kind on But Sleep Came Slowly. Most of that record is blah, but the song is 10 minutes of devastating dub fuzz guitar lullaby so it's worth it.
>Low (Secret Name and Things We Lost in the Fire era)

>Juno

>3 guitar wall of melodic noise. Gets kinda rockin/dramatic but you'll find moments.

For newer stuff, Grouper"s good

Tel Aviv's first record is also quite good for that sound. Albiet a bit more straightforward/less experimental.

bookmarked this thread. thank you guys

This album elicits a completely unique emotional response that cannot be reproduced with any album. I just imagine myself as an astronaut, floating in empty space. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
>>
>>61061672

codeine is just plain slow rock to me why compare them to duster?
>>
>>61061611
This sounds pretty damn similar to some of MM's early stuff.
>>
>>61064006
You are correct

Check out Red house painters
