I was partly kidding about vaporwave, I like some vaporwave like eccojams and the pink japan picture one with the japanese title but a lot of it is really bad imo (mainly macintosh plus and the copiers of it)
I like the satire of consumerism and capitalism of vaporwave. but it's a joke genre. it started out that way and I don't think it can ever escape that. mainly because of its inherent simplicity.
that said, I'm listening to eccojams vol. 1, and I'm considering making "good" vaporwave. it seems pretty fun.
