5 years ago, someone recommended me this song for Viking metal

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klMZcowalPI

I couldn't find it since. I've been searching on and off for 5 years and I finally found it. I had little to describe it except that it was viking metal and there was some one speaking what I thought was celtic or gaelic in the beginning

i could cry

Reposting, because no replies in last thread.

Long time since I bought music and now it's time to buy some joulu presents, so I'm going to get something for myself as well.
Recommend me some hidden gems and other true masterpieces in the glorious genres of black and pagan metal.

Honestly, if you dont mind noodling, Rings of Saturn's first and third albums are pretty good. 3rd is a little more progressive, but the first is more consistent

First
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TfPd0jlavA

Third
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6oSVDU_Tvg

the 2nd is tryhard garage (like, more than usual), but maybe it's what you're looking for?

I just saw PTH on their Kezia tour, drove 4 hours to get there and the London City Music Hall had the shittiest sound. it was so loud and bass focused that I couldnt tell what song or what part we were on because I couldnt hear the melody, and Kezia is one of my favorite albums of all time

It was fun, but it was so loud I was getting dizzy. Ive been to a fair number of shows, and this was by far the loudest.

I saw mayhem recently and couldnt even tell that they were playing until Attila started singing funeral fog. I fucking hate indoor venues that put everything to full blast and is literally inaudible buzzing and it's fucking impossible to hear what the band is playing.

Pretty cool, I haven't ventured much into Deathcore yet (aside from when I used to listen to stuff like Whitechapel and Here Comes The Kraken years ago).

Some thrash bands use clean vocals. Prog too. And Doom, also depending on the band.

I listened to djent. I used to like Meshuggah and their many imitators. In general, it's shit, and the people who like it these days are chiefly scene kids who just got out of chug-a-lug deathcore/metalcore like BMTH and think they've found something harsher and more intellectual, since the lyrics revolve around such what-does-that-even-means as "styroscopic contortion assaults".

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if someone could rec some DECENT djent that isn't Meshuggah; I grew out of the genre two years ago, and ever since then, all I've seen is shit like Slice the Cake and some djentstep band that's as bad as Korn's "The Path of Totality". I'd love to see something decent, but I doubt it's out there.

i really can't think of many deathcore bands influenced by symphonic black metal aside from them and ovid's withering

and really not many bands in the genre are pure meshuggah imitators, most bands have a much less claustrophobic and dissonant sound and are less about hypnotic repetition. post-meshuggah djent tends to be way more ethereal and melodic
