Is spotify more generic stuff or does it also find stuff from other countries or less known artists/songs?
I'm not sure if it also works with your already owned music on your itunes or whatever playlist your phone has access to?

>paying money to own an album forever
>paying money to temporarily download a shitty stream of an album with virtually none of the proceeds going to the artist

how pleb

spotify has tons of niche stuff. The desktop app will play your own rips but the mobile will only let you stream or download for offline play from their catalog. Google will actually let you upload your music though.

It's worth it solely for the reason you can download all this stuff on the go. Yeah, pirating is free, but it sucks to do that for everything you want to listen to. I listen to a lot more music now as a result. Only downside is how much music it doesn't have.

yep pretty much this
it's pretty convenient for the stuff it does have. it's also nice if you want to send whole playlists to your friends, don't need to send the entire files
Actually I've found that a lot of stuff it "doesn't" have are just geoblocked. Doesn't really make it better but you can just pirate those.
