There are good white rappers, but most white people tend to say their "e" and "a" vowels and "r" and "l" consonants in a way that just doesn't project the word.
Prose spoken in rhythm isn't a solely black innovation but the appeal of rap is really in the dialect of English. It's imperative to get this down to be an emcee.

Overly rhotic "r's" at the end of a word, over emphasized l's at inner syllables in multi-syllabic words and weird "i" sounds sneaking into the back end of "a" and "e" vowels are very Midwestern American and it kills the feel.
