But the SoE/LS thing is difficult. I personally have been much more affected by the former but I admire the latter as a complete whole more, if that makes any sense.

I agree, I've listened to Meat is Murder several times over and I still love it. I never could get into The Queen is Dead, it just feels pale and second-rate in comparison (though it is still a good album).
I was just fishing for debate with the Talk Talk lel. But anyway, I think you're right. Both albums are phenomenal and are equal in quality, but different to another. I totally understand what you mean, because that's exactly how I feel about the albums too. They're just as good as each other, but one will be more impacting, depending on one's mood and setting.

I can certainly see the appeal in that album, but I just couldn't get into it as much as LS or SoE - it sounded 'too 80s pop' for me compared to the mentioned two albums. I definitely have to listen to it again though, I last listened to it when I was an edgy alt-rocker in high school, hopefully I'm a bit more openminded about the album now. It always did seem like a great album to me though, within its own right.

Yeah it is. Touched is fuzzy analogue anger and sadness in about 30 seconds and its really concise and interesting
Come in Alone is only good for one nice chord change. Its demented-sounding and silly, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
