Oh sure, sure. A 7/10. Seriously?
>>
>>61048073
That's a pretty good rating, though I'd give it an 8. It's pretty damn good, but I think the Beatles catalog has better
>>
>>61048073
the school system has blinded you to the fact that anything above a 5/10 in music reviewing is a positive review.
>>
>>61047798
I don't know if I would go so far as to say nothing beats it, but one does have to admit that no other Beatles album either preceding it or following it sounds like it. It stands out on it's own.
>>
one of the best tracks isnt even on the original release

And what track would that be?

Actually, it was on the British version of the album.
One must remember that, prior to Revolver, the British Beatles catalogue was quite different from the U.S. counterparts. Not only were track listings different, but album titles were different. In fact, Revolver was the FIRST Beatles album where the U.S. and British versions came close to mirroring each other. Both version are identical with the exception of the fact that "And Your Bird Can Sings", "I'm Only Sleeping" and "Dr. Robert" were left off the U.S. version. These three tracks, however would find themselves on a record that was a compilation of tracks that, up until that point had not been released in the U.S. called "Yesterday and Today". You might've read about it in history books. It was the album that got recalled due to the offensive nature of the original cover, so they had to change the cover.

Is it an original cover? A lot of unscrupulous people in the past have counterfeited that cover and tried to pass it off as the original. If you have the original cover, AND record, if both are in good condition, they go for a pretty penny.

Of course, last year, once again, in honor of The Beatles' 50th anniversary of coming to the U.S. Capital Records decided to re-issue "The Capital Years" C.D. set, and this time they included the U.S. version of A Hard Days Night, along with Yesterday and Today with BOTH covers, and Revolver.

nice b8

>Led Zeppelin III
>Led Zeppelin IV
>Houses of the Holy
>Physical Graffiti
>Meddle
>Dark Side of the Moon
>Wish You Were Here
>The Wall
>Are You Experienced
>Axis Bold as Love
>Electric Ladyland
>Who's Next
>Quadrophenia
>Sticky Fingers
>Let It Bleed
>Beggar's Banquet
>Exile on Main St

The Beatles were very influential but their actual music is kinda dated and not that great. It's pretty excellent (66-70) but there is better music around.

i'm being sarcastic by the way, geoff emerick should get a medal for all the production engineering stuff he did on this album

Why are you putting one of the most commonly used mixing techniques into dude lmao format
>>
>>61049961
i've been reading about how in the revolver sessions the beatles started using it on individual instruments and for squashing drums and bass as an effect and for upfront instrument sounds instead of just limiting and mastering like they were before. they used the fairchild 660 limiter on everything, like the horns on got to get you into my life, or the guitar sound on taxman. it's like the close micing they started did on horns and strings: the engineers weren't actually allowed to do that, but geoff emerick said fuck it and did it anyway
>>
>>61050012
i wish other bands were as well documented and written about as much as the beatles
>>
