Would this sound different with a different album cover?
>>61041281
absolutely, great question
Shit this is a good question. It probably would. I would feel different things I think. I'm glad they chose this album cover but man this gets me thinking about other albums
>>61041281
what the fuck
That reminds me.
ARCTIC AMBIENT IS A FUCKING SHIT GENRE THAT BASES ITS ENTIRE SOUND ON PUTTING THE COLORS BLUE AND WHITE ON EVERY ALBUM COVER. THE ENTIRETY OF THE SCENE IS FILLED WITH NIHILISTIC FUCKTARDS WHO ARE TOO FUCKING EDGY TO HAVE THEIR MUSIC LABELED AS "WARM DRONE" EVEN THOUGH THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT FUCKING IS. EVERY ARCTIC AMBIENT ALBUM THAT I HAVE HEARD IS DERIVATIVE BULLSHIT THAT IN NO WAY WARRENTS A SUBGENRE OF IT'S OWN, OH WHOOPEE YOU FUCKING MADE SOME SYNTHS PLAY OVER FUZZY STATIC THATS LITTERALLY REGULAR FUCKING WARM DRONE MUSIC YOU FUCKING MEME. IF YOU PUT SUNNY SHIT ON THE COVER THEN IT LITERALLY WOULDN'T BE ARCTIC AMBIENT ANYMORE GET A CLUE BITCH.
I'm actually legitimately laughing at this thread.
What the fuck guys?
That purple dreamy aesthetic is crucial to the band. I think yes.
I dream/think in purple hues when i listen to this album
>>61041281
I really don't know, but part of me says yes.
lmao
>>61041768
But it's pink
>>61041963
Bilinda is so beautiful
>>61041281
I think it would actually. The psychology of this warm fuzzy image really does impact the way I hear the music
>>61041963
lmao
yes, it totally changes it
>>61041281
This leads me to wonder: What other albums would sound/feel totally different with another cover? What albums wouldn't sound/feel any different? Just how important is an album cover to the music?

Get a load of this objective guy here.
>>61042381
get a load of this pleb! lol!!
>>61041711
why would a genre based around being cold be categorized as something warm.
Genuine question, because I've only tried one album that would be classified as """arctic ambient""". You however, seem invested.
>>61042419
seriously do you look at the album cover when listening
>>61041981
That other girl isn't unattractive, relatively
>>61042471
Yeah
>>61042471
please be baiting
>>61042241
Albums that would sound different:
>Merriweather Post Pavilion
>Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
>In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
>Dig Your Own Hole
>Selected Ambient Works 85-92
>Cosmogramma
>Kid A
Albums that would remain the same:
>Sound of Silver
>Trout Mask Replica
>Music Has the Right To Children
> F#A#Infinity
>Floral Shoppe
Just to name a few
>>61042471
Sometimes, and I usually think of the album cover when I'm listening.
it always does
>>61042605
>Music has the Right
I don't think so, the weird re-imagining of the 70's is really represented with the album cover.
The voice samples would still hit their mark but I don't think the other 70's distortion would
I probably wouldn't have listened to it if it had a cute girl on the cover
>>61042605
Switch LYSF and F#A# and you're right
>>61041963
Okay as an experiment, I tried listening to this album with this album art and holy shit I now see why the album art is such an important part in the album experience.
>>61041711
sleep research facility is boring anyway.
you shouldn't give this guy the time of day.
>>61042722
is this musicbee
>>61041281
yes it would
>>61041281
someone pls redesign this to make it look like a Blue Note album
>>61042471
Prob not but I associate the cover with sound automatically
>>61042768
yes
>>61042813
cool i like the lyrics thing
>>61042794
True, the cover is the first few opening drum notes for me. That's what I think of.
That and Sometimes which has soundtracked pretty much every major moment in my life
I think album covers probably change the way things sound more than we realize.
>>61043363
This

>4/10 at least it's simple
this is now a music player rate thread

>>61042445
"Warm" is a semi-objective general music term, it doesn't actually have anything to do with temperature. The opposite of warm would be "bright" or some shit.
>>61041281
Hey isn't that the one album that sounds like the smashing pumpkins with super thin audio quality?
>>61046273
>being negative
>2015
don't you have donald trump news to read, mr. i-dont-want-to-positively-contribute
>>61042605
i agree with almost all of those but im not sure abt floral shoppe, i feel like the aesthetic is a big part of that album
Shit got me thinking
>>61041281
souvlaki will be absolute goat if they use this as cover instead
>>61041281
I had a different idea of what the album would sound like when I saw the cover than when I actually listened to the album.
>>61046515
I think whether or not the covers affect our opinions on albums is actually a pretty interesting topic of discusion
>>61047520
shut the fuck up
Got me thinking about Death Grips - No Love Deep Web
>>61043751
How do I get the left sidebar to work like that?
Lots of samefag in this thread, but no. No, it would not sound different with a different cover. You would simply have a harder time associating the cover with the sounds, which we all like to do because we are materialistic and we can't separate the image from the actual quality.
>>61047726
bet you think about that album cover a lot
I always think of the colour scheme of the cover when I listen to music, I think that's more important than what the picture actually shows.
>>61041281
people do underestimate the power of the cover to influence your perception of the music
but i think the sound of loveless stands on its own
