He's never released a bad album, but I think Before Today is his most consistant or "most realized" album. It's defintiely still possible for him to top it. My personal favourite Ariel album is Worn Copy btw

I honestly couldn't get through Pom Pom on my first listen. I'm trying it again right now, but Mature Themes is a really strong record mang
House Arrest is my fave. Before Today is my least. HOWEVER: I would rate all his albums as 8.0 or higher. I think he's still got 2 or 3 more patrician albums left in him before he becomes washed up unless he pulls a Michael Gira and keeps releasing golden music in his 60s
