I think, overall, that the popularity and attention THe Epic is receiving is a really good thing. Jazz has been hugely unpopular for a long time, and this album is changing that, at least a little bit. I can safely say that I wasn't into the genre at all until I listened to it, and now, while my taste is still entry level, I've been opened up to a new genre. It's the most popular jazz album in a long time. Of course it's going to be lower quality than the best or most experimental out there, but so is all popular music.
