Why, /mu/, why are all of you a bunch of pretentious pricks about music? I understand not liking a band or a genre... but is it necessary all this elitism bullshit?
>muh rym patrician circlejerking
>muh last.fm full of obscure artists
Fuck you.
hey man
now
fuck YOU

/mu/ doesn't like music, /v/ doesn't play vidya, /co/ doesn't read comics.
Welcome to 4chan.

Robin Hood and Little John walking through the forest. Best track on the whole album. 10/10
we like memes :o)

This.
By and large this is a website for socially isolated young men who, shockingly, all have the same deliberately and aggressively esoteric taste in media.
Its rarely about the actual music and more of an identity related thing. Which is why nobody talks about playing guitar in the guitar generals.
>>61006816
almost every day this is posted
if you don't like it then fuck off mate
>>61006919
>>61006816
ITT: Newfags who found out their favorite artists suck.

what's wrong with obscure music exactly? i can't comprehend caring whether a music artist or popular or not, because at the end of the day the music does the talking. stop being pissed op
Just some bane posting and this thread would sum up the entire website.
>>61006816
>REEEEEEE MUH MUCORE, MUH MEME RAP
>>61006816
>but is it necessary all this elitism
there's nothing elitist about /mu/ at all
Yeah, this website would be so much better if the threads were like:
>POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOU THINK AC/DC ROCKS
and the comments were like:
>posting because I love AC/DC!
>great taste OP!
>saw them live! they rocked!
>:)
>I don't like them as much but TOTALLY respect that you think they rock! :)
This board is good the way it is, faggot.
>>61007162
nah
ur a prententious dickface
>>61007162
>implying a false dichotomy
don't do that
>>61007178
The way threads get bumped on 4chan is by the sheer volume of posts/posters. What this means is popularity is a function of controversy. The more shit you stir up, the more successful your thread is.
There's a site that doesn't function that way. Instead of running on controversy, it runs on good feelings. People upvote to show that they like what you've said, and this pushes your threads and comments to the top of the page.
On this website, people aren't elitist. People say they love what's popular, and they get upvotes. Then people comment that it is good that they love what's popular, and they get upvotes, too.
When a bad boy shows up and says a mean pretentious thing, they downvote him so his unkind opinion goes away. You should check it out.
pic related is /r/music
>>61007208
It's not. Your point is there's something in between a lovefest where everyone's opinion is treasured and a shitfest where we fight and you deal with it.
That middle ground is called "a shitfest where people fight but my opinions specifically are valued."
That middle ground doesn't exist because your opinions are shit.
>>61006816
While there is a defined "mu-core" I don't believe there is a circle jerk at all. Everything is shit on here
>>61007162
Well, I saw them live, and they rocked.
Whatcha gonna do now?
>>61007162
>ITT: post your top 10 most BADASS metal riffs
They are not being pretentious, they genuinely like those "obscure" (because most of the time they aren't) artists that show up on their lastfms.
Also, the RYM threads are useful for finding new music.
Maybe the problem is not them, but you.
>>61007162
kekkles
>>61006816
Well I found out after listening to a lot of /mu/core that I like finding new music to listen to sometimes and that music is often very good
>>61006816
because we have nothing else :(
