depends, there are a few great clubs like cosmic ballroom and world hq, digital is mostly shit but gets decent acts. Crowds are always usually good. World hq was absolutely rammed for DJ Q + Murlo, but I've been a few times when it wasn't so busy but still a good vibe. Lot of house and techno here, kind of lacking jungle/dubstep wise in my opinion.
Still got no plans for NYE though.

What's your fav compilation /bleep/?
/bleep/ seriously needs to talk about comps more, oftentimes they're a better source for music and music discovery than exploring whole label rosters.
>>61009756
I decided the other day that Soul Music is likely to be my favourite LP of the decade. Modern Warfare was also amazing this year. 2nd favourite EP this year after Dubstable Trax, slightly better than the new Sully EP which was also great.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs7DjWiLkZU
>>61009820
It tends to only be a problem when the majority of genres you listen to stopped existing between 10-20- years ago.
>>61009881
It's not a Wiley track but Pulse Eskimo is undoubtedly the best Eskibeat track.

>>61009980
Does Paul DJ differently as both aliases? Saw him earlier this year and was really disappointed.
>>61009980

Soul Music is a brilliant album desu. This Sully is sounding very nice, and as you know I don't listen to jungle.

Does ninjaman listen to any techno? What are his favorite techno picks?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBDvXdAV79w
>>61009955
Theme-based detroit techno comps are the best.
>>61009955
I find it's hard to rate compilations, especially label ones. Like obviously there are some very good ones, but it's not the same as saying "oh yeah, this is a great EP" because it all comes down to what's already been made for the label.
>>61009955
If it's a single CD compilation than probably Techsteppin. If we're allowed multiple CD comps than probably the Suburban Base One from last year. I haven't though about what my favourite comp is compared to what my favourite mix CD is which I have a definite favourite for.
>>61010024
It's out for what, a few weeks or maybe a month or something. It's a little less rave inspired than Soul Music but still top quality. That Sully release is about as good as Blue that he released on Keysound.
>>61010058
The one thing I don't think modern Grime producers do as well as the old school guys is keeping tracks simple. They can put out bangers obviously but some of the old Grime tracks were more or less silent for periods. My favourite Grime instrumental in particular did that well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QcCn0H2x6A
>>61010138
Ninjaman is a dancehall MC, I doubt he listens to Techno.
I guess Omar-S, Robert Hood and Drexciya.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzJ9PfuqkIQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8pd6DoMde4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imKh_TKqHt4
>>61010158
No one really goes "oh yeah this is a great EP" either, since dance music is all about rating individual tracks over releases as a whole. Great comps compile the best tracks as decided by the public or by the mixer, they usually work the same way a DJ mix would work.
>>61010462
>No one really goes "oh yeah this is a great EP" either
Really? That might just be you mate.
Like for example, the Deep Medi compilations are all great but I can't really say that they're great as a compilation itself, it's mostly just because it's a bunch of tracks I love anyway. Mixes are completely different because they involve, well, mixing and the mood and progression of the mix is important.
Compilations of rare/unreleased tracks on the other hand...
1. Madrid
2. Mondo
>>61010570
>>61010462
Comps are great as a quick history check, best-of releases if the artist or label discog is huge or unobtainable, and for the same reason certain mixes are great (mood building + obscure track selections).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tbje5Ski6KU
>>61011566
>How is german pop music actually
The same as everywhere else
>>61011599
>Feral Witchchild will never be released
>>61011599
iirc Burial's HD broke down
it's why he had a pause in releasing stuff from 2008 to 2011
>>61011692
lmao tell him to get an SSD nerd
>>61002601
Fuck, DJ EZ is a manlet
>>61011532
To be fair it wasn't generic when it first came out.
>>61011557
As GOAT as it is, it's still not my favourite Breakbeat related LP, that will always be The Deepest Cut Vol. 1
>>61011566
>>61011608
Germans should make more breaks. They were pretty good at them.

synctube.org/r/bleep
>>61011734
That's why he's called EZ
>>61010577
mondo is fucking shit mate
>>61011734
>The origin of his name stemmed from his height and inability to be seen from the crowd when in the DJ booth. Cries of "we can only see 'is 'ed" were heard for miles around. Hence the name DJ EZ.
I want this to be true but it's probably made up.
Legowelt <3 Is there anything he can't do?

Renegade Snares (Foul Play VIP Mix) gets me everytime. One of my favourites tunes.
>>61007402
lads ?? please someone
>>61011382
>Not sure what the aim of this post is
pure, straight to tape, uncompromising banter
>>61012045
Isn't banter supposed to be funny?
>>61012100
well it was funny to me
>>61012100
Not if Americans attempt it
>>61011961
Omni Trio could have a good career making 2step if he wanted to as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWwnvTsHgow
>>61012150
now that's really funny
DUDE PARDNERS LMAO
INB4 LE BUTTMAD PARDNER HAHAHA XD
>>61012203
To be fair, take one look at /sp/ and you'll realise that americans don't understand the concept of banter.
it's peak if you missed terminator on rinse
>>61012341
Do you mean Terminator as in TEE or Terminator as in "Terminator is out there."
Because TEE released a free mixtape this year.

chooooooooooooooon
>>61011820
Kek, i didnt know that, most of the dj´s in the 90´s were very tall...
>>61012499
what horribly sexist record art
boycott this release
shame really as i was going to buy it until i saw it
>>61012418
i mean TEE
i only heard that sbtv ages ago
>>61012517
I'm not sure how often this happens but I like when there is a duo and one is obviously much more massive than the other, looks pretty funny.
>>61012733
take ur kid 2 work day :^)
>>61012602
just draw some jeans on it

>>61011335
what's wrong with liking villalobos?
I've basically only listened to this track but it's pretty great if you ask me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rlv6LtgKqjs
>>61012602
You should see the art for this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNAMgWH9yyA
>>61012890
He's trolling
>I've basically only listened to this track
ygsiu senpai
>>61012890
nothing wrong with liking it. some things he did where quite good (mostly things from ages ago)
but IMO he's a fucking wanker (can't make a good mix for shit, release self indulgent music such as basically a 30 min loop of two horn notes, etc)
didn't meant to open a debate though, t'was just for the banter
>>61012951
i'm not trolling
>>61012951
yeah getting to it as we speak lol
downside with visiting family in brazil is shitty brazillian internet but I'll get there haha
>>61012951
lol, how can someone listen to one Villalobos track and not have it be Dexter?
>>61012890
>villalobos
>>61013003
it was sent to me by a friend a few years ago haha
>>61013031
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0i1Szq6GM8
well, this is def. his best tune that I've heard, either this or his remix of Shackleton
>>61012987
He can be as self indulgent as a big a wanker as he wants as long as he keeps making incredible tunes.

>there are people who haven't listened to Fabric 36 in this thread right now
>>61013123
>there was someone in the last thread who hadn't listened to fabric 55
>>61013181
>there are people posting here regularly who have made no attempt to go to a club
>>61013181
not everyone starts from point one
>there are people in these threads who drive for 16 hours in a toyota yaris to make it to the club
>>61013220
yeah I don't do the whole essential /mu/ chart thing
>>61013181
55 is so good that it's clear it's the best one. I can't decide which FL is the best though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGG6GbQFfgw
>>61013273
>not getting my sick sick reference
>>61013302
FL 57 imo
Although I really love 75 too
>>61013123
>listening to mixes
>>61013302
I've listened to 56 countless times. Definitely my pick.
>>61013378
Also a good pick.
>>61013339
Don't worry mate, I got it.
Any vintage chiptune man in?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdIQTEYXDP4
>tfw never heard this on a system before
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKQP3vTLIUc
>>61013349
>>61013378
Mine's probably 62. The whole thing was ridiculous.
83 gets a special mention because it has everything about it which means I shouldn't like it (average DJ, new and shitty productions, shitload of mediocre MCs or formerly good MCs who are now way past it) yet despite that it was really good. I gave it an instant reload when I first heard it and I don't usually bother doing that.
>>61004199
weeeeuw such a toughguy
ben ufo, shackleton, martyn, villalobos, jackmaster, levon vincent, omar-s are my favourites, but none of them are really surprising I guess
>not posting the greatest FL ever released
>>61013951
I'm upset that I am not him though.
>>61013995
>tfw you will never be oneman
>>61014256
>commes des fuckdown
urgh
>>61014377
lol calm down dubman its not that serious that you'll never be oneman
>>61014500
I love oneman, but fuck that shitty hat
holy shit looool get in synctube hahahaha
>>61014544
