Not memeing. I don't know how it happened but I just hate all music now. Nothing is appealing to me anymore. It's all either too basic or it's trying to hard or it just sounds bad.
Music has been a big part of my life for such a long time and it's really weird to me that I just can't enjoy it anymore. I always feel like I should be listening to something but it always winds up being disappointing.
Believe me, I've tried all kinds of genres. I've forced myself to listen to a wide range of albums all the way through repeatedly. This has been going on for roughly a year. The issue isn't that I'm not trying hard enough.
Has this ever happened to you? How did you deal with it? Were you able to come back from it?

I kind of had the same deal with video games.
I went through a couple of years hating video games and gamers and seriously not having any interest in it, so I switched to music.
I dunno what happened but then one year I felt like getting an Xbox and Bioshock 2 came out around that time and my uncle bought it for me.
I play tons of games and listen to tons of music, so it was just a weird phase and you may get out of it and start enjoying music again. Give it time I guess

How are you enjoying other aspects of your life? If your as into music as you seem you might only be realizing your disatisfaction with music not sounding good and not the overall picture. Just saying you might want to go see a therapist for depression as that's a common symptom.

OP, get into weird metal. Listen to the new Dragged Into Sunlight/Gnaw Their Tongues split. Listen to jazz guitarist Mary Halvorson. Check out Brian Eno's Ambient albums. Dive into those genres or other stuff you haven't explored.

I made and listened to music all my life and then I just moved to China and listened exclusively to A$AP Rocky and Clams Casino and hated everything I used to listen to (skramz, emo, "alt" hip hop). This just happened to me. Just got back into videogames after hating them for almost two years. I've always loved music, but in that time I wasn't playing games at all I really dug into a wide variety of music.
