A full length album I released on Halloween. It's full of a bunch of tracks I made randomly. The majority of them are loud noisy guitar (some with beats), but there's also a few tracks that are ambient, drone or instrumental hip-hop. It's alright.

I don't know why I called this an ambient release when I put it out, but for most of the tracks, imagine Throbbing Gristle (lmao) except instead of Dark Ambient backgrounds, it's vaporwavey sounds.

New album literally just released! Recorded over a few months period and stitched together from different parts using a Talk Talk ethos (hence the obvious homage in the cover), it incorporates many genres to culminate in what I think is my most ambitious, emotive, and convincing project to date. I took cues from jazz and folk artists in order to create a strong sense of atmosphere. I would love feedback, cheers x

I wasn't digging the first few releases of yours because I felt like there was a huge lack of consistency in the sounds and the production but I feel like here you've kinda balanced everything out. This album stays true to the same sound and production value mostly all the way through, which has given me a lot more room to appreciate. I definitely still enjoy the moments with little effects and a roomy mix more than anything else, for instance a track like "Heretic".

Yo this is pretty decent. Guitars sound super heavy, vocals are raw as fuck, drums sound terribad. Something about MA producers, man. They all do that super dry, awful drum sound. Anyway songwriting is mostly quite good, although not as melodic as I was expecting (which isn't a bad thing). There was one super generic breakdown in the first track which is something that a lot of will go apefuck for but I can't stand that shit. Lyrics are generally good but there are some hardcore cliches in there (the phrase "fucking liar" is somewhere on just about every post-1995 hardcore album). The third track was probably my favorite in all areas.
Normally I would say if you feel the need to tell people a track is a b-side it means you don't think it's that great and you shouldn't put it onto the album at all. But your b-side actually pretty good, and what saved it was, weirdly enough, the breakdown. The intro started out fine but kind of overstayed it welcome. The rest of the song was underwhelming. And then the fucking enormous, generic to the point of transcendentally awesome breakdown shows up. I admire your choice to cut out to everything but a stick click count-in instead of shitty feedback and a china cymbal count-in like a lesser band might have done. It built tension way better. Honestly the b-side might have been my favorite musically but the lyrics are pretty lame.
>>61000156
Maybe I just don't get drone but these songs took way too long to develop. I liked the clean parts. I wish the dirty parts had been a tiny bit more clear. Obviously the outrageous distortion is part of the sound but I think you could have used a little less and made it more apparent what you were playing.
>>61029059
>crunchwave
it doesn't get any more painful that when someone makes up a genre for their music. Anyway, your music is pretty unusual and kind of intriguing. I wouldn't say I'm hooked though.

>>61008349
Black metal is such a niech market. People can be drawn to it and others repelled however, I can take or leave black metal. I love how you're going for the early 90s raw production angle you're approaching from and I can tell it's deliberate and not a cheap way to record. Like I say, I can take or leave black metal and as much as I like where you're coming from and I appreciate the style, it's not my wheelhouse. But... Your artwork is sublime. You've captured the atmosphere so well and those greys, that grain. The dread. Do you have a page that you post your art on or is it a hobby?
Anyway, keep up the work. There's such a huge devoted market for this sort of thing. And you're well suited to it but actually finding the market is the hard part, very neeesh.

>>61008349
This was fire from the jump. Great atmosphere you've got going on its evil as fuck. I don't have much experience MAKING black metal but the only real suggestion I have is sinking that kick a little more on the drum beat. It's a little too distinct in the mix imo. Needs to be even dirtier. Maybe throw a little bit more filter on it idk. Mayve some reverb too to make it sound a little distant. Like its approaching from somewhere else (intro like my nigga)

I'm high af and this has my approval for sure. Really lush atmosphere. Easy to fade into. Love your guitar tone. >>61032409
Its cool but a variety of sound/tone/mood would do them well. Could just be a matter figuring out how to mix in a creative way. The songs all sound too similar to garner any real interest but the vocalist has a unique voice and the basic drums definitely give their songs a sort of intimate feel.
>>61029486
They made it a b-side because it wasn't going to be on the ep but someone outside of the band paid for it to be recorded.
>>61029486

>album artwork.
tacky and literal. seems you google image searched gopher and mspainted text on it
>song 1 gopher
instrumentation is bare minimum, not amazing performance either. lyrics are weak. vocal delivery is okay. composition 2/10 injected sample, again is tacky and literal
>song 2 the woods
general MIDI sounds. again like the bare minimum of instrumentation but different this time i suppose.
vocal delivery is tacky. lyrics are absolute bullshit. i assure you no one likes this song.
>song 3 paul blart
back to guitar. kinda droney open string style emo.
"tv remote" part is decently hint of song crafting... overall lyrical angle is really weak man, its like almost a comedy song but it falls short of that kind of song, no real punch lines or much of anything funny.
>song 4 the crab king
yes you do have to cut the string ends off :)
same complaints as paul blart. open stringy weak composition lyrical angle etc not funny etc
>song 5
your closest attempt to decent music but even then its a little kitschy and mostly bland. story song that is neither an interesting story nor a great song. BUT I'll admit the lyrical phrasing fits and composition is at least not so drab and droney...
>overall:
vocal delivery is not completely awful, and you have enough guitar skills that you can start experimenting with more chords or keychanges stuff like that get better at writing songs. just get better at writing songs or telling jokes. no one knows what to do with it if youre not going to be good at either one of those.
