I like the idea of owning one of these (would not use the case it comes in).

If I had a two row suitcase I would have these components on the bottoms with a couple oscillators on top with the usual LFO, Envelope, Filter Etc.

Though on the other hand, pure feedback worship.

Source for this? I looked it up one time, and I just found some sources saying it was pronounced "BAO" and some saying it was pronounced "BOE," (these "sources" were like random forum posts and blog posts), but it seemed like the majority were saying it was Merzbow as in to take a bow. Is there any really credible source saying what it is? I haven't seen the Merzbow documentary but I'd guess they'd pronounce it at some point in there.

Merzbow comes from the german word "Merzbau", bau is pronounced like taking a bow.
>>
>>61024895
i've always thought pronouncing it like bowel was correct considering dachau is pronounced the same way
>>
>>61025063
You mean bowel like where your shit comes from? That's correct. Let me try to be clearer about my pronunciations.

Dachau - (Dak-ow)
Merzbow - Merts-bau (bau creates a similar sound to ow, like if you hurt yourself, or owl, without the l)
Bowel - Bau-el (same sound)

Aube - Sigh in Depressive Blue

I love aube. his style of rhythmic, hypnotic noise with long structures really pushes all the right buttons for me. I particularly love his albums made from human biological functions (pic related is recordings of the lungs, cardiac strain is heartbeats, and blood brain barrier is EEGs converted to audio). this one almost seems melodic at times which I find really interesting.

Listening to pic related right now, a Merzbow classic. There are a lot of times on this album where Merzbow does a really good job incorporating rhythm. He's good at that.

>>61033259

>>61033433
The last thread said really good things about Aaron Dilloway, apparently he's pretty friendly. Merzbow seems like a pretty friendly guy, too.
>>
>>61033433
most noise artists are quite friendly and approachable, the nature of the community and the very short distance there is between the guy who just buys noise and goes to shows and the actual people who make it(including artists who are ostensibly "on top of the food chain" when it comes to prominence, like wolf eyes or prurient) doesn't really allow for artists to develop a rockstar attitude about the whole thing

especially considering that a lot of these artists also run labels or distros or work in/own record stores of their own

according to rym, the "earliest" PE release was 1980 with whitehouse's birthdeath experience so I guess so? They even coined the term. And, again, according to rym, Leichenschrei is more straight up industrial than PE.

>>61041779
Torturing Nurse - All Bastards+ is my immediate thought but apparently Hijokaidan released several albums this year I haven't gotten around to, they might be worth checking out.

Oh yes it is, that's inarguable but it was an early predictor of it and slogun sounds like it would fit on any PE albums.

Do you guys have a dl link for their 2013 collab?

More fun noise like late whitehouse?
>>
>>61046576
I can't think of anything. Maybe wolf eyes but they don't have the vocals that are perfect for shouting along with like later Whitehouse. Modern consumer electronics has a similar vocal style but it's a little to venomous and a little too serious to be as fun as whitehouse.

Alberich - 5/10
Âmes Sanglantes - 4/10
Dust Belt - 6/10
Empty DNA - 7/10

>I want to imagine your house scattered with noise releases and anime figures. I want to believe.

Reasonably accurate as far as the noise releases go.

Skin Crime's activities ended pretty shortly before I started getting into noise, and for whatever reason I never dove too deeply into Patrick's stuff. Kinda waiting for the impending Hospital box set to drop.

can someone give me an advice on how to ask for a collaboration? i'm kinda insecure about it
>>
>>61051709
if your insecurity comes from feeling that you're work isn't up to scratch then just practice more dude

the actual act of asking someone to work with you isn't that bad. i mean, i suffer from horrible social anxiety, but the reality is that the vast majority of people are easy to approach and generally up for doing things, no matter what said things could be

1. Intro/Proposition "I would like to collaborate with you. Is this something you would be willing/interested in doing?"
2. Body Paragraph I "Here is why I would like to collaborate"
3. Body Paragraph II "Here are my initial thoughts of how to approach the work/collaboration"
4. Conclusion - Sum everything up and state how there will be no hard feelings if there is no response.

Example:
Hi Noise Bro,

I would like to collaborate with you because you post a lot of albums that I like and we seem to have similar tastes and sensibilities.

I initially thought we could go to my garage and hit modified guitars with hockey sticks but I am open to sending sample back and forth via Email. Trying to be considerate of your time.

So let me know if this is something you would want to do. There is plenty of ramen and coffee at my place.

Hope to hear from you soon (if not no worries),

Scumbag

Then they don't reply.
