hey /mu/, i don't get the idea of listening to a whole album. what i've been doing is just listen to different albums and download the songs i like from each album and put them into separate playlists, each with their own genre/feel.
what's your take on this /mu/, do you listen to full albums and if so, why?

you should listen to the entire album, artists make them by a certain concept or genre, it shows a lot of variancy in the actual state of the musician/band, so try searching the albums of the songs you really like and listen to them

You do you. Imo, if an artist makes an album, then listen to the album. If the artist is just using the album to bundle a bunch of songs, then just get the songs. Nothing is stopping you from just listening to single tracks of an album-album either, though.
Really the album is just an outdated commercial vehicle for music that both musicians and music listeners have gotten overly attached to.
I continue to enjoy it too, though.
