It's agitprop. Warhol wasn't famous for his work as much as the idea of his work and the world he built around himself. Except for maybe the soup cans and Marilyn, the average person can't name a Warhol painting, of which there are hundreds. Same with his films. MIA reminds me of that, in that I think she'll be remembered more for the video work and her overall aesthetic in terms of design and fashion than for the songs themselves. Her way of constructing music will be thought of highly but there's not going to be a lot of 'hits' to obsess over fondly. I'm not sure we've seen that yet.
