As far a my googling shows, the only possible alternative music player is a complete firmware overhaul called Rockbox. It looks neat, but pretty much just adds some UI customization.

Foobar has a plugin, musicbee does it automatically, if you want to be contrarian and use shitty software, use clementine and dead as fuck winamp, that can't handle big libraries.

It's fetches podcasts for me as they come out so it does everything I want but play flac. Which I then use something else for that album.

Anybody know how to sync music between a phone and computer on musicbee? I have a lot of albums that are only on one or the other and I want all of them on both without having to go and manually move everything
I used foobar but it had a habit of deleting all my track ratings so I switched to musicbee
