This was the first progressive rock album I ever listened to, and the one which began my interest in discovering new music
>>
>>60976196
All albums are underwhelming to me on first listen, so none.

Fucking this man. Listening to On Fire right now, Galaxie 500 is the GOAT. Their solos just come out of nowhere and fuck me up every time

And pic related
>>
>>60976513

The number of songs that have made me cry in my life is low, but the screaming/sliding guitar solo in Its Getting Late is on that list. I'll have to listen to your pic related soon.
>>
>>60976549
It's nothing like Galaxie 500. It's incredibly well-produced, lo-fi, amazingly organic sounding freak-folk. The Microphones/Mount Eerie/Phil Elverum is one of my favorite artists ever. Would recommend to just about anyone.

I wish I could hear lift yr. Skinny fists for the first time again. I was so young and stupid when I heard it. I'd love to hear that and slowly get into post rock all over again.

I know this sounds stupid, but I remember hearing Enter Sandman on the radio when I was really young and asked my mom "Hey, who is this?" and she told me it was Metallica, so I asked her to buy me an album by them on the way home. She came home with this, and this album was what got me into music in the first place.
>>
>>60976741
>I know this sounds stupid
It's not. Stop being so insecure, it's a fantastic album, don't let anyone lead you to believe otherwise.
>>
>>60976787
I think it's a fantastic album, but I've definitely gotten shit for saying it's both a fantastic album and the album that got me into music before.

tfw you'll never be a kid in elementary school again, being let out early for a snow day, going home and playing in the snow with your neighbors
>>
I listened to Pet sounds for the first time in 10th grade, in Art class. By "You still believe in Me" i just couldn't focus on anything else. I excused myself from class and ended up walking to a park near the school while the album played itself out. Laid down in grass staring at the autumn sky.
That last cry in Caroline No was and remains one of the most affecting moments of my life.

No matter how much I think about it. This is the one that really got me into spoken word and noise/post-rock. And made me look into the genre Post-Punk more thoroughly.

Although it isn't the album that opened my eyes to music. That would be Battles - Mirrored.

Exactly, I've seen people try to find the lamest reason to shit on Metallica even down to making of their name like it's too "try-hard" for having metal in the name. You gotta wonder if they really hate their music or that they're the biggest band.

I first heard this a few years ago and it was love at first listen, fuckin incredible I tell ya. I loved it right away. It was like nothing I had ever heard before. The energy and everything was fucking extreme. Now I understand that this album is nothing really too special but that first listen I had, simply amazing,, it was also when I started to shift from listening to whatever pop bullshit was on the radio to actually caring about music, looking for music similar to dg and venturing into other genres
>>
>>60976196
Fragile is like the worst "classic" Yes album tho
>>
>>60982338
There's a musician you might like with similar structural themes to DG that goes by NAH. You might like him, b/c I was the same way and I fucking love that guys stuff. He recently released a mixtape. Very beat oriented punk rap.

First album I ever fell in love with and I don't really remember what it was like because I was pretty young. Thanks cool older brothers. Like to remember what it was like.
>>
>>60982380
i remember listening to 420 and there's this one interval at the end of the loop when it goes from a b to an f sharp and it made me feel really uncomfortable along with the ambiguous vocals

the rest of the album gave me similar vibes, like track 1 and 10, along with the more chillwave ambient pieces thrown in throughout
plus i genuinely loved track 3 with the glitchy skippy beats. i think it's totally danceable and good on its own

i thought it was peaceful to the extent of artificial relaxation, along with really fucking creepy
>>
>>60982418
Holy shit you're such a fucking dumbass, you know that? You are the bottom of the Earth. The people nobody wants to talk to. You spend so much time listening to shitty music yet you think it's good. You spend your time obsessing about people and posting them on the internet to look cool yet in reality if people in real life saw that what would they think? They think you were a loser, you fucking loser. You aren't interested in starting a discussion with me? It's probably because you don't even know how. I'm not retarded, I'm telling the truth. Know what you're doing before you do it. The way you're acting now is so childish I can't even begin to explain. Listen to a mature record that isn't a totally exaggerated mess of emotions and poor musical merit. Which is what you listen to now. How about some avant-garde jazz? Try A Love Supreme, it's pretty entry level. You probably won't get it though because you're a worthless sack of shit. You will never amount to anything in life. Go outside, take a walk, don't think about your edgy so deep music for once. Once you've done that, come back and try to look at what you're doing right now. Maybe after a few times you'll see that you're a complete child and need to improve. Or maybe you have a serious mental issue. Maybe Autism? I'm guessing that's it. Seek a doctor or therapy to help that out. Or maybe you don't. Maybe you're just a close minded retard with no understanding of anything at all.

Don't even try to bring this argument anywhere else. I won't respond, or I'll think of something to get you mad since you're easily made upset. This discussion is over, sorry loser.
